It's feeding time at the zoo! If you want to be reminded of some of the great animals our world is home to, you might want to pay a trip to Frank Buck Zoo, located 1.3 mi (2 km) from central Gainesville. If you have fun at Frank Buck Zoo, you'll love Santa Fe Depot Museum, located nearby.
If seeing the sights is on your list of things to do, head to Cooke County Courthouse— just one of the landmarks located 0.7 mi (1.1 km) from central Gainesville.
Saddle up for a taste of cowboy culture at the Gainesville Rodeo, held annually at the local fairgrounds. Explore the Morton Museum of Cooke County to uncover the area's rich history, from Native American artifacts to pioneer relics.
The town was very nostalgic with beautifully restored buildings. There is even a working Tran depot! The candy shop on the courthouse square was so much fun! The restaurant called Sara's on the Square had amazing food and service!! Loved the zoo too

Excellent
I would recommend Krootz Brewing Company and The Rib Crib as definite places for food and drinks. Food and service were excellent at both places.

We had a good time, lots of eating places and nice shopping downtown.
"Not the best experience, It’s true what they say you get what you pay for. I just felt uncomfortable it looked like it was still under construction! Water stains on the roof, AC unit did not cool the room off very well, Sheets had an off smell, Bathroom was scary when you use shower. The fire detector was hanging from the ceiling! Good thing it was only for 1 night and we only spent a few hours got up the next morning and got right out."
"You (or at least I) get what you pay for. Check-in was fine, clerk was friendly and fast. Elevators were terrifying, a lot of jolting, bumping, and very noisey, just sounded old and in bad shape, buttons didnt light up either. The room felt like a converted janitors closet. It was IMMEDIATELY to the left of the elevator which meant it was very noisy in my room anytime anyone used the elevator, whether it was my floor or a different one. The interior was poorly painted with splatters everywhere and the tub was clean but very stained. Everything else was fine. The property is located in a dark area and is not very well illuminated, especially if you have to come in from the back entrance (which you have to do if you arent exiting from the interstate). Overall, it was worth the $86, but I think a few liberties were taken with the word Quality, I think Adequate Inn would be more appropriate."
"The staff was polite. The manager/owner was professional and extremely helpful. Good guy. Room was clean and bigger than we expected. On-site actual laundromat, app controlled. "
"Exceptional service, value and comfort. This was an unknown hidden gem that I happened upon while passing through town. It was the perfect price point & comfort for me. The staff are courteous, professional and very efficient while providing exceptional service to every single guest."
"The hotel was clean and quiet. Good breakfast offered. Don't park under the trees. The birds will leave your vehicle a mess but hotels warns guests. We would stay here again. Nice hotel for price! Also has Cracker Barrel next door so you can walk over for a meal. The negative is the road construction getting to and from the hotel but it is all along that corridor. "
"It was really quiet and it was close to the wedding venue I needed to get to. Apart from the noise from the highway, every other thing is really good. I loved the motel and it was really clean. "
"The room was very nice and clean. Well kept smells. Good. Bed was comfortable. TV was great. Very quiet. Water was beautiful. Enjoyed it and the ladies work in the front office or excellent."
