Playa's waterfront boulevard captures the essence of laid-back Caribbean charm with bobbing sailboats against turquoise waters. Colorful Dutch colonial buildings with distinctive gabled roofs create a picture-perfect backdrop for your island adventure. Cruise over to the main pier where crystal-clear waters invite you to dive right in, or grab a palm-shaded spot to witness those jaw-dropping sunset shows.
Fresh seafood dominates the waterfront restaurants where local flavors shine in dishes like conch fritters. The compact area is perfect for leisurely walks past boutiques selling authentic Bonairean crafts and coral jewelry. When evening falls, gentle waves provide the soundtrack as you stroll along the illuminated harbor promenade.
Hato's pristine coral reefs welcome you right from shore—no boat needed for world-class diving and snorkeling adventures. Resort properties line the coast with private beaches and crystal-clear waters perfect for spotting colorful fish. The airport sits conveniently nearby, making this area your gateway to Bonaire's natural underwater wonders like No Name Beach and Te Amo Beach.
Dining options focus on upscale resort restaurants serving fresh seafood and international cuisine. A rental car is your best bet for exploring beyond your accommodation, as public transit is limited. Choose from luxury beachfront resorts or boutique dive lodges where the peaceful evening atmosphere centers on sunset cocktails rather than wild nightlife.

The peaceful atmosphere makes this neighborhood ideal for travelers seeking luxury accommodations with the perfect balance of privacy and adventure.
Belnem offers private beach bliss on Bonaire's dreamy coast with world-class snorkeling just offshore. Villa life here means waking up to turquoise waters and spending your days exploring underwater wonderlands at Bachelor's Beach. Rental cars are a must in this residential haven where luxury villas with private pools dominate the accommodation scene. The quiet streets and sandy paths make exploring on foot a breeze, though you'll need to head to Kralendijk for restaurants and shopping.
Antriol gives you a real taste of Bonairean life without the tourist price tag. This residential neighborhood offers quiet streets where you can mingle with friendly locals and discover small eateries serving traditional stoba and fresh fish. You're just a short trip from gorgeous beaches like Te Amo and Donkey Beach while enjoying the authentic charm of daily island routines.
Getting around is easiest with a rental car or scooter, though the flat terrain makes cycling pleasant too. Accommodations range from cozy guesthouses to budget-friendly B&Bs with personal host interactions. Most shops and eateries close early, so plan your meals accordingly.

If want to top up your tan, you might want to head out to Pink Beach, located 6.1 mi (9.7 km) from central Kralendijk. Enjoy the sunset by the shore at Lac Bay Beach, Sorobon Beach, and Bachelor's Beach.
Kralendijk is well-known for its attractions such as Bachelor's Beach and Sorobon Beach. This relaxing city has something for everyone including sights like Pink Beach and Lac Bay Beach within a small-town setting.
We walked to downtown, 10-15 minutes max with shops and restaurants along the way. Downtown is vibrant and fun with people of sorts enjoying themselves. We will be back many times during our stay, mostly in the afternoons leading to dinners

Snorkeling is amazing and if you can get to 1000 steps it's a must do!

The city is pretty much only open for business when cruise ships are in port. Other than it's pretty dead. The beaches are rocky but have beautiful water and amazing marine life.

Some great little restaurants in town and on the water. Not a late night town, especially Sunday and Monday.

Chogogo Dive & Beach Resort Bonaire
10/10 Excellent
"This is a very nice hotel on a great private beach. The food at the hotel is very good too- our favorite was the beach bar, mostly because the staff is very cheerful and welcoming (thanks Jessie and Jobana). You can also rent a car on site, which was very convenient. We will be back. "
"Very nice rooms, great beds, nice view, good price, fridge and iron in rooms are very convenient. Very friendly staff. Always a pleasant stay for my business travel."
"We loved the Manta Monday presentation. We loved the dive ship and everyone that worked there was kind and relaxed. The hotel was very central and everything was at the hotel or within close proximity to the hotel. We loved Bonaire and think the location made it great. We also loved the Chibi Chibi bird in the restaurant and loved seeing her steal sugar from the alcohol bottles and then go to her nest. Those experiences and learning from the locals made our vacation magical. "
"Our family spent a lovely 2 weeks at Bloozz in early July. We found the units to be spacious and conveniently located. Bloozz is close enough to Kralendijk for shopping and far enough away to be out of the commercial traffic. More importantly, it was proximate to favorite snorkel/dive sites (Salt Pier, Tori's Reef, etc.) and right across the street from Bachelor's Beach (an easy entry sandy beach + good snorkel spot!).
The Bloozz staff was friendly and helpful. The property is beautifully landscaped. A really nice feature is the on-site lockers and wash station for snorkel/dive equipment, all of which was included as part of the rental. Their pool is nice with plenty of chairs, partially shaded. While we utilized the well-equipped kitchen for the majority of our meals,, the house restaurant's pizza was tasty! Overall, we had a fabulous time. Bloozz is a casual venue, which met our expectations nicely.
One note, and we understand this to be common in the Caribbean, there is neither a fan nor AC in the main living area (we rented the Luxury Apartment). It was recommended to utilize the cross breeze from the bedroom windows and the fan from the balcony. This worked reasonably well. There are AC units in the bedrooms. This aspect would not keep us from returning nor from recommending Bloozz to anymore planning a trip to the incredible island of Bonaire! "
"This was an amazing experience. I arrived with a family of five total (young college age and two older adults). We had the penthouse and it was divine. Every detail was amazing. It was quiet but accessible to area attractions by car. Easy parking, friendly staff always available for question. I would love to stay at other properties they manage but I have to say we left our hearts at Bliss Bonaire!"
Van der Valk Plaza Beach & Dive Resort Bonaire - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Wonderful luxurious experience. Great all inclusive food service with sushi at dinner and fresh fish grilled for both lunch and dinner! Kids had a blast. "
"It helps that this property is adults only 16+. All the guests were very respectful of others, no screaming teenagers in the pool. Property managers Cindy and Christina were very helpful, responsive to all our queries. We have been to Bonaire many times but this is the place we will come back to. "
"Beautiful penthouse 3 bedroom apartment. Had a wonderful stay, staff was attentive & courteous. Loved the pool & the beach club across the street was excellent "
"The property was amazing. Its in the middle of everything. You dont need a rental car because everything in walking distance. The property manager was great. All the amenities is super up to date and the pool area is awesome. Little walk out the resort and the marina and store's are right there. Love this place"
"Tastefully decorated. At night turn on the ceiling lights and see waves on the walls. Little details like led lighting behind tv. Comfy bed and linens. Very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Close to diving sites and town. A+"
"The service and team there was excellent. Their attention towards us was exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The property was beautiful. No negative feedback. Only that our kitchen sink had a bad leak and there was a gap between the entry door to our room and the floor. Had to stuff a towel in it to keep mosquitos out. I would definitely recommend staying there. We met many others there who were repeat visitors."
"This is not the newest and most modern resort on Bonaire, but it is very clean, well kept up, quiet, and has excellent snorkeling right in front of the property. There are a number of good restaurants within an easy walking distance. The unit we booked (a 1 bedroom) was much larger than we expected - an unexpected pleasant surprise. Everything you need is included in the unit, plates, silverware, glasses, pots/pans, coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator, and stove. In the bathroom, there is a hair dryer (important for my wife). The unit also has a very nice screened in lanai to enjoy the sunset. The unit was cleaned once during our week stay (which was communicated at booking). Communications was excellent, staff were pleasant to work with and very helpful. It's only about a 5 minute drive to downtown, 10-12 to the airport, and convenient to a number of well recommended snorkeling and dive spots. There are4 two dive shops very close by."
"We stayed in one of the villas - 4 bedroom/4 bathroom with private pool. It was very clean and spacious. The AC worked great and we appreciated the AC in the bedrooms and kitchen/living area. The kitchen was nicely equipped to prepare some meals in the villa. The private pool was nice and refreshing. The resort pools were nice with plenty of seating areas. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!"
"The room was nothing to brag about but the owner more than made up for that he was always available for anything that i need. The pool area was awesome, the landscape around it was tropical and provided shade from the hot sun. I would go back again because of the staff, the pool and residence 10 min walk from the
center of where everything happens at night."
"Loved the location extremely convenient! Also the staff could not have been more accommodating they were willing an able to assist with every request we made. Highly recommend! "
"Red Palm is glamping. Stayed with my wife, daughter, and sister in law.
PROS:
Very nice indoor/outdoor floor plan
Staying in nature - iguanas, black and orange birds, etc.
Excellent bathroom--shower has good water pressure and drainage
Modern kitchen
Very nice patio area with table
Lovely non-chlorinated pool
Have movie night once a week--excellent projector and sound system (although film about holocaust...)
Excellent central location: 10 min from wild flamingo area (awesome); horse ranch; and outstanding mangrove kayak tour. Another 10 min down the road is a very beautiful part of Lac Bay.
CONS:
- Frozen meat in the refrigerator when we arrived. Staff cleaned it promptly when asked.
- There is a $65 mandatory cleaning fee due at the location. It would be much better if that $65 could be included in the total charge we pay up front.
- Limited to no laundry service. While we wash our clothes by hand, it's nice to have a few things washed in a real machine from time to time.
- There are a few bugs--some quite large. Must keep AC on at night (28 deg celsius good) to avoid them when sleeping.
- Somehow, our AC got turned off and would not turn on for a couple days. Again, staff fixed it quickly when asked.
- You may find yourself taking a shower with a lizard or frog. After a few screams we realized they are friendly and they became part of the family.
Unique and recommended!"
"Delightful staff and for a diver, it doesn't get easier or more convenient of an experience. The reef is nice, different than what I expected putting it up against the Red Sea. Different things to see essentially. Red Sea would be more colorful in hard corals and clams while Bonaire has large gorgonians and massive pipe corals where you simply don['t see in Egypt. A very nice 12 day stay. Red Sea would be more of a highly restrictive dive environment. Buddy dive is the polar opposite. Regulation and restriction is at a absolute minimum. Not unsafe, just wonderfully open and free for an AOW diver to simply just come and do his thing. The only negative which almost every hotel falls short on is for longer stays, the beds simply are never comfortable enough. I will return to Buddy Dive when traveling to dive on Bonaire in the future, there is no reason to stay anywhere else.

"Resort Bonaire Review – One-Bedroom Apartment
During my recent trip to Bonaire, I stayed at Resort Bonaire in a one-bedroom apartment. Overall, the stay was comfortable and well-suited for a dive-focused trip, though there were a few quirks worth noting.
Room & Amenities
The apartment featured two twin beds, which could be pushed together to form a king. Since I was traveling with a friend, we opted to separate them for added space and comfort. The room itself was clean and functional, with enough storage for our belongings.
One of the highlights was the fully equipped kitchen, which included a dishwasher—a great convenience for longer stays. The ability to prepare our own meals was a plus, especially given the limited dining options nearby.
One downside, however, was the air conditioning setup. While the bedroom had AC, the living, dining, and kitchen areas did not. This made those spaces noticeably warmer, especially during the day. It would have been nice to have a cooling option for the entire apartment.
Dining Option
Resort Bonaire offers a single meal each night for a very reasonable price. The catch? You have to get there early because they often sell out. The rotating menu ensures variety, but since there’s only one option per night, it may not suit everyone’s tastes. That said, the convenience and affordability were definite positives.
Final Thoughts
Resort Bonaire provided a solid stay with comfortable accommodations and useful amenities. The AC limitation "
"Clean rooms, comfy beds, good pillows, and always nice and quiet! The pool and drinks from the bar were always great and the beach chairs and cabanas were nice. Definitely recommend! "
