Nice surprise
Nicer than I expected. Nice outside sitting area by the river, would be lovely in summer. The room was nice and well fitted out. I’d definitely use again

Staff were friendly and helpful.
A good Riverside Hotel/pub
Direct access to Riverside footpath and cycleway, quite close to, but a bit of a climb to walk into the main town of Exeter

Breakfast menu not very clear or priced showing juice/ tea coffee were extra but food itself was good. Continental breakfast poor if later than 9am.. maybe very hungry clients ate most of it early. Situation on river with gardens excellent. Overall a pleasant place to stay.

Mill on the Exe is a lovely pub and hotel … very quaint but lovely rooms. The only problem was that the bed was surprisingly small in length…. It was wide enough as a King Bed should be…. But not long enough.

Not as nice as I was expecting. My view was over the car park. The manager pointed out that Expedia customers need to stipulate if they want a river view. For £145 I thought I’d get one but he said that was cheap for Exeter. Other observations:
Not double glazed - just an extra piece of glass that didn’t cover the whole window.
Wifi insecure
Parking - no notification that there was private parking for guests, which is important I think, as I parked in the crowded pub car park.
Multiple power outages
Toilet flush issues
Given wrong wine. French sav said was given but second waiter said hadn’t had for ages. Staff seemed a little clueless.

The location is great. Our room was lovely comfortable & clean. Our bathroom shower door was damaged so it was difficult to adjust the temperature of the water without soaking the floor. The shower head needed descaling too as the water was spraying everywhere. There were no tables for dinner so we had to go into Exeter to find somewhere to eat. The car park was full so my other half was unable to park until we came back later after dinner. staff were all very young and didn't engage with guests. It used to be a lot friendlier here during our previous visits.
