This is a very beautiful hotel with an amazing location. The onsen is wonderful. The rooms are very small and too tight for two people, and the air conditioning is poor which is brutal in summer. Also, the breakfast isn’t very good, I wish I hadn’t pre-purchased it. Overall this is a nice hotel but over priced for what you get.

The room was narrow and small but comfortable. It's conveniently located to restaurants and attractions. One of the front desk clerks wanted to charge us for checking in half hour before the 3 p.m. check in. But after checking with somebody in the back, she came back to say the room is ready and there won't be any charge. That was a little strange. Overall we were satisfied with the Granbell.

Amazing property, especially for the price (near $100 USD per night). Great location for shopping, sight seeing and train. Very stylish room with extra seating and just enough room for luggage. Very friendly staff and nice lounge area. The men’s onsen was also very cool. Would not look anywhere else if I stay in Kyoto again in the future.

Hotel was alright, rooms super small, so small that there was nowhere to put your bag! The hotel itself was nice but not much to it, it’s in a great location. We recommend this property. It is modern and fun. This is right where you want to be to enjoy Kyoto. You have to accept the rooms are a.bit tight size wise however it was fun to be close together. They had a full bar but no food availability there however just steps outside the door were a dozen choices. There was a Buffett breakfast but we did not chose that option. We left feeling we would return and recommend.
