What a quaint, away from the Main Street noise, fabulous place to stay. This is a short walk just past the Statue of Liberty, that we walked with ease to & from Main St. The twin sisters, Rose & Caroline are friendly and welcoming & want to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay with them pleasant & enjoyable. I called in advance to make sure there were toiletries & that we're white noise sleepers & if a fan was provided. They made sure to place a box fan in our room. They even hand wrote a card welcoming & thanking us for our stay with them. Small gestures go a long way with the experience. Our room overlooked the hot tub to the property in front of this one, and kept the windows open to hear the waterfall, which was pleasant to fall a sleep to. We also had a small water view which was stunning. We chose to have the bathroom in suite & took advantage of a soak each night in the claw tub. I might recommend some bath salts or bubbles complimentary for guests, but we did find a shop in town that sold some. The bed & pillows were firm. The breakfast was quite good, choices from bagels, Danishes, oatmeal, some sort of egg & meat dish, yogurt, and cereals. The coffee was great, and they had decaf & tea options. They served an afternoon coffee/tea time 4-5pm which was a nice treat. The playlists for both settings set a perfect ambiance. We had an amazing time visiting in October and Pine Cottage added to our wonderful experience.

The little touches made this property a wonderful and special choice for us. The house is well loved and cared for in its minutiae of ornate beauty, and it translates in a million different, subtle ways to you as the guest. Breakfast was plentiful and obviously homemade, the lobby and receiving room were gorgeous, decorated in period appropriate furnishings. There were books-local guides and visual marvels-and playing cards, games (and a docking station with several charger adapters). The room was small, but reasonably priced and beautifully decorated. Everything was clean, quiet and friendly-tea and cookies at 4:00pm and a lovely time to say goodbye to other guests-who all weirdly seemed like genuinely wonderful people. It was my son’s first time on the Island, and my first time in 35 years, and Pine Cottage Bed and Breakfast was an integral piece of our exceptional experience on Mackinac, we’re so grateful for the care and kindness shown by staff. I would highly recommend a stay in this glorious home. Happy vacation!

The property is clean and maintained. The staff is attentive and courteous. The bed and breakfast is comfortable and quiet. Things to know are that unless you pay for a room with a bathroom, you will be sharing a bathroom with 3-4 other rooms. It’s worth it to have your own bathroom, in my opinion. Also, we stayed on the top floor and there is no elevator, so it’s up and down the stairs. Good for my exercise! All in all it was a pleasant experience.
