Marcy and Walt are wonderful hosts and always available to answer questions. They made us feel right at home from the start. Their home as well as the setting is very peaceful and relaxing but in close proximity to all area attractions. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. This historic home is very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it.

Happiness is a great B & B
My stay at 1732 Folke Stone B & B was awesome! Marcy and Walt ( host & hostess) know the true value of providing great service traditionally found in a bed & breakfast! Marcy serves a fabulous breakfast that kept me going most days til dinner. The location is surrounded by lots of things to do and see. I highly recommend this b & b and would definitely stay again.

Great historic renovated home. Comfy and cozy downstairs. Friendly and helpful owners. Amazing home cooked breakfast. I was stuck there one day this past week due to a snow storm on a work trip and decided to work from their comfy couch and they lit a fire for me.

Beautiful house with friendly hosts
My wife and I make a yearly trip to visit family about 10 miles from the Folke Stone B and B. The house is a very well remodeled old stone house from the 1730s. It has a number of walk in fireplaces, large exposed beams, wide plank floors, antique furnishings, and beautiful stonework outside. If the weather hadn’t been unseasonably bitter cold, we would have taken advantage of the discounted admission tickets to the spectacular site of the Longwood Gardens not far away. We’ve always gone to generic motels in the past to save money, but for a little more we got a truly delightful, memorable, stay with friendly hosts and a real breakfast - not the packaged muffins, unripe bananas, and presweetened Creamora syrup of the past. I’m very happy to have ventured to this lovely, place, and will come again.

Wonderful Experience
My husband and I stayed at Folk Stone for a wonderful week. Marcy and Walter the owners are great people with whom we really enjoyed talking with at breakfast. The history of their home is so interesting. My husband loved, loved Marcy?s sticky buns best he has ever eaten. We stayed in the Rose room which is a great room with our private bathroom right across the hall way. If you want home away from home accommodations then Folk Stone is the place for you! We will definitely be back. Thanks Marcy and Walter for making our stay in Pennsylvania that much better. Brad and Cherie?

Lovely B and B
We were very pleased with our stay. My only issue was that the bathroom was across the hall, not en suite. As it turned out it was not a big deal. The B and B was lovely and the host and hostess were quite accommodating. We had a very nice time.

A 2-night stay
Several years ago I stayed at Folke Stone and had a wonderful time. Very convenient to the university (I was attending a summer poetry conference) and wonderfully quiet for sleeping. Charming house and grounds. Kind people. Good breakfasts. --M.

Beautiful historic bed and breakfast
My husband and I stayed here for our annual Fall trip with two other couples, dear friends. We had the entire small beautifully restored 18th century home to ourselves. We were taken care of graciously by the owners, Marcie and Walt and enjoyed their company. Marcy arranged tickets for us for Longwood Garden, including the Nighttime Light/Music show and reservation and a discounted gift certificate at a wonderful restaurant for dinner. I would highly recommend a stay here and look forward to sharing this experience with others. Margo

1732 Folke Stone B & B tops them all
I have stayed in many dozens of Bed and Breakfasts over the last 40 years. Sometimes the property is especially charming. Occasionally the food is phenomenal. Once and a while you meet Innkeepers who become valued friends overnight. The 1732 Folke Stone B & B met all these criteria, and even went above and beyond. Marcy and Walter were gracious and genuine from the moment we walked through their historic front door. We were treated like family. We dined like Kings. We slept as comfortably as we would have at home. Special mention should go to the warm and caring treatment of my 99-year-old father. He sat by a cozy fire, and was utterly content...as were we all. With sincere thanks, Emilie Collens Illson

Enjoyable and comfortable stay
Let me say first that our Inn owners were two of the most gracious people that we have met in all of our stays at B&B's. The location to many attractions was perfect. Quiet but close to things. The directions that were given to each of the attractions that we visited were perfect and shorter than what a GPS provided. The owners had a wonderful knowledge of the area restaurants and we enjoyed several meals in town very much. The sit down breakfasts that were prepared were quite delicious and the atmosphere that was created was very homey. The owners always seemed to be available for our needs and we loved the way they sat and chatted with us at breakfast and during the day while there. We would highly recommend a stay at The 1732 Folkstone B&B Inn for anyone wanting to see this area.

Welcome Home
In this fast paced world we live in, it's nice to find a place you can call home when traveling. This for us is 1732 Folke Stone Bed and Breakfast. Found in charming West Chester Pa and very close to Longwood Gardens and the various DuPont estates, and Brandywine Valley attractions, this B&B is just above all the rest in value and service. Overseen by it's hosts, Marcy and Walter Schmoll, the B&B is packed with it's own history. An informative history of Folke Stone comes with your stay. The hosts make it a special place to relax. The rooms though small, are comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are across the hall from your room, but robes are provided. If you are booking the Jenny Lind room, just know that it's bath is very small. The breakfasts are so special here. Marcy makes each one deliciously different with healthy ingredients that fill you right up. Walter will light a lovely fire in the diningroom fireplace each morning for your enjoyment and warmth in the winter. We have come back to Folke Stone again and again and have had a wonderful visit each time. We concider Marcy and Walter our dear friends and Folke Stone our home away from home.

Home away from home!
We recently visited West Chester, PA for our sons family weekend at WCU and stayed at this wonderfully cozy bed and breakfast. What a gem! The rooms were lovely and clean, the location was just about six minutes from the hub of West Chester and the hosts, Marcy & Walter, were so welcoming. They provided us with delicious breakfasts' consisting of homemade breads, fresh fruit and egg stratas with sausage and pancakes. They joined us at the table each morning and spent time telling us about the area and its history and answering any questions we had. They were so warm and friendly. During my sons next four year stay at the University, we will have many opportunities to visit and I know we will be staying at the Folke Stone B&B for those visits. The beautiful rooms, wonderful food and gracious hospitality is a winner! Don't miss this place!

A Favorite Retreat
What a wonderful place to spend a few days. This 18th century home delights the senses with Marcy and Walt's wonderful hospitality, delicious breakfasts and interesting fellow travelers. It was easy to visit two of our favorite sites: Longwood Gardens and The Brandywine River Museum. We will surely return soon.

Great Three Day Stay
We picked Folke Stone for its convenient location and received so much more. Walter met us and took good care of us until Marcy arrived. The rooms were great and the private bath across the hall was spotless. What breakfasts!! Marcy is a gourmet cook. The house itself is historic and we took wonderful walks in this beautiful neighborhood that has a rural feel to it but is close to everything. A great choice on our part.

A wonderful experience!!!
Outstanding hospitality! We called to advise we were going to be a little late and Marcy answered quickly and pleasantly. She even returned my call to let us know we could invite our daughter, whose Family Weekend event we were attending, was welcome to join us for breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the private bath (for each room). And the breakfast on Saturday was wonderfully presented and very delicious. The owners, Marcy and Walter, also sat with us after serving the breakfast to provide some historical insight and provided pleasant conversation. Breakfast on Sunday surpassed our expectations and was again plentiful and delicious! We dined with the other two couples staying at the B&B and again, Marcy and Walter joined us for discussion, adding to their already outstanding hospitality. We heartily recommend the Folke Stone Bed and Breakfast to anyone and we will definitely visit again. Rick and Denise Buckley
