Staff are very friendly and helpful! The hostel is very quiet compared to the other hostels, clean and good for the money spent! I’d you want to party with friends, this is not a hotel for you as party and alcoholic drinks are not allowed!

This Hostal is very quiet! It’s clean and good for your money. Staff are very helpful. There are 24 hours front desk personnel so you feel safe! It will be great if the Hostal allow a bit drinking on the site. I think this will bring more customers to the Hostal!

Nice stay in Oaxaca
Great that I had a single bed in room to myself in a Hostel. Big bonus that.

This hostel is very centrally located, yet it was quiet enough for me to sleep well at night. It's very clean and the bed is comfortable. I love that they provide drinking water!! The only thing I would change is to make sure residents understand which bathrooms have hot water and which ones don't (some have solar heated water that can be quite chilly). Oh, and put thicker curtains on the window to keep out the light from the hallway.

Quiet hostel, really enjoyed my private room for an excellent prize. Great rooftop with almost 360° views of Oaxaca!

Excellent location right in the city centre; spacious rooms with ample storage space; friendly staff - especially the chap in the mornings :) clean, atmospheric and with a great roof top terrace. Definitely a place to return to!

Cheap stay but comfort not so high
The stay was cheap and the room and areas where large and clean. However comfort overall was low. Beds were hard as a brick and there are a lot of noise from traffic during the day and in the mornings, which not even ear plugs can block out (which might be a general thing in Oaxaca centro), so just be aware.

nice, cheap and clean
The location is really good, very central. Huge hostel, it has so many floors and different spaces. Lovely rooftop. You have to climb lots of flights of stairs to reach the kitchen but it has good facilities. NO LAUNDRY SERVICE despite saying it has, but the launderette is around the corner and very cheap. The hostel is really clean and we appreciated that.

Loved the coffee and water 24hrs. Loved my room and the upstairs deck. Staff was very nice. Location was awesome. Only negative was the kitchen wasn't sufficient for number of rooms and the refrigerator was too warm and my food spoiled. They think they are saving money. Eat in the street, it's wonderful, cheaper and you can find some great cheap restaurants.

6/10 Good

I spent 9 nights, having booked a single room with a shared bathroom. I had been to Oaxaca many times, but never in November. At Andaina, I had a room on the 2nd floor aka Nivel 1. The room was EXTREMELY cold, and not getting any sun. Also, it was too close to the front desk and its constant noises. Getting a room on Nivel 2 or 3 would have been a lot more enjoyable for a long stay. The roof top provides a great view of the city and the mountains. The shared kitchen is a great addition to the hostel which provides, free of charge, drinkable water and delicious coffee. The hostel was extremely clean thanks to a hard working crew. I complained to a manager about one of the employees,l who works the front desk. A COMPLETE lack of manners and education was displayed by that young man. I asked the manager to coach him, hoping for a change. Unfortunately, no signs of better customer service and manners were shown during the rest of my stay. That young man shouldn't be working behind a desk dealing with an international clientele. I will give only 3 stars because of him. Otherwise, my rating would have been higher.

My room was perfect for me -quiet, very large, very clean, comfy bed. The staff was nice and kept the coffee pot full and the water jug too. Great top deck for fresh air and coffee in the morning. Awesome location. The shared kitchen is the weak point. They only had two forks so I went next door and bought some, problem solved. The refrigerator is barely cool, typical in South America. They think it saves money. They desperately need four more burners. Only two people can cook at once but there is so much good food here in the street it is really not a big problem. I would kill for an ice machine. Overall though I will stay here again if I can get back to Oaxaca. Very good!
