Not how I remember 😉

Excellent experience considering it has been 48 years since I was last there! From checking in until I checked out 5 days later, nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly & helpful staff, rooms clean and well appointed, food was lovely. A thoroughly good time was had.

Very comfortable

Very comfortable and in an excellent position for the dockyard and Quays. More of a “club” atmosphere with friendly staff. We particularly appreciated the reserved parking space as I hold a blue badge . Thank you

Perfect location for Gunwharf Quays and Guildhall

We needed a bed for our trip to see a gig at Portsmouth Guildhall. The Royal Maritime was perfect for this and very close to visit the very nice Anson quayside pub, Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker Tower next day. It wasn't expensive and perfectly adequate for what we needed.

A perfectly fine stay for a decent price

I had a comfortable room. The standard sized double was fine for me and comfortable with decent sheets, pillows and duvet. It had a desk as well as a comfortable chair - always a bonus. Generous tea, and coffee with biscuits were welcome. The shower was an older Mira style over the bath but worked OK. I was slightly disappointed that no shower gel was provided. There is a bar of soap and shampoo provided however. Overall a perfectly fine stay for a decent price

Good location. Friendly Staff. Regular visitor.

Visited for an AGM. Saturday night stay. Excellent as always. If you are going for a romantic stay worth paying a little extra to update to a deluxe room; still very reasonable in price, as not all rooms have been upgraded yet. Near all visitor sights and transport. Swimming pool a bonus.

Lovely hotel

We had a lovely stay. It’s very conveniently located, the staff were friendly and helpful and our room was clean and had everything we needed.
Laura, 1-night trip

I stayed for 3 nights while mainly visiting relatives so didnt eat at the hotel or use the facilities. I was in room 210, a corner room so lots of light, a good size double and a large bathroom.

Mercedes, 1-night trip

Clean but dared

Just an overnight stay after docking from the ferry late at night. Hotel receptionist extremely friendly and helpful. Room clean but quite dated as seems to be the rest of the hotel. Breakfast quite good especially if you like a full English. Parking could possibly be an issue, very limited free hotel parking and pay parking on the street limited. Overall fine for an overnight clean and tidy but definitely not luxury but for the price ok.
Claire, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Avoid

The hotel feels like the management team have no intention of investing into the building or its standards. Outdated, over priced, poor condition of rooms and don't get me started on breakfast…….Absolutely shocking unless your a 4 legged dog that hasn’t eaten for a week…..
3-night trip

8/10 Very good

The hotel is adjacent to the naval shipyard and its numerous museums and historic ships. Its also an easy walk to the train station. Nearby is a very popular mall with plentiful dining and shopping options. A prime location to spend a couple of days exploring Portsmouth.
