Nice hotel in a small village. Decent breakfast and good parking spots

The staff were awesome and the food was good.

Nice

Beautiful old hotel. Room faced west and was too warm all night. Breakfast was good and reception and other services were great.
1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Nice stay, room was lovely. Great views.

Really nice place. Room was fine. The strict reception times a bit prehistoric. Don't get there early and expect any favours!

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Angela, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Pros: super sweet staff. Very welcoming and friendly. Location was very pretty. Close to a lot of things. Cons: water stopped working morning we left. Beds were pretty rough—lots of springs and you could feel them. Walls were thin—could hear the neighbors watching movies and talking.

Nice rooms

Nice rooms, clean but bathroom tiling needs regrouting. No soap in dispenser. Friendly reception and night porter staff.

2/10 Poor

Avoid!!!!

Horrendous. Dated, shocking decor, food inedible, like and old people’s home

Seen better days

Located in a lovely village this hotel has seen better days. My room was grubby, the bathroom covered in mold and lots of dirty patches on walls and ceiling. Very limited facilities and services, rooms not serviced all week.
John, 5-night trip

Charming town and hotel.
Burton, 4-night trip

Rooms are not serviced, not enough staff, restaurant closed before closing hours, food horrible, dated and run down- the place needs big investment, it has clearly seen better days. Perfectly fine for sleeping, but other than that…

Highland Hotel, Strathpeffer

Catered for coach parties not guests. Told we couldn't book dinner and then told dinner was booked. Given same menu as coach party which was mediocre. Breakfast was cold. Bed clean and comfortable but not even a chair to sit on. Will not re-visit.

Nice hotel with friendly staff

Was upgraded following an issue with the toilet. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was really good.
Debra, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

I’ve had multiple stays here and it’s clean, welcoming and quiet, with good parking and comfortable rooms. Dining available onsite or nearby. Tour buses call in the summer but visitors are mainly elderly and calm. There’s sometimes hoochter-teuchtar or country and western music on in the foyer in the evening but if that’s not your thing, you can retreat to the quiet of your room or have a peaceful stroll in the village. Reasonably priced.

Good place to stay overnight

Property needed some investment. Staff were excellent. Meal was good. Would have liked a little more choice for evening meal. Generally good value a pleasant stay
Darron, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Had a wonderful time. Very relaxing.
Burton, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Stay was good for a one night sunny weekend.

The stay was for one night, check-in was smooth. We had booked family room 1 double bed and 1 single bed. But we got 3 single beds. The little was not happy sleeping alone and kept falling of the bed as there were no barriers. Spring beds are very uncomfortable. The room was spacious and old mansion kind. Single glazing windows.

Highlander

A very good mid-range hotel with adequate parking, comfortable, quiet rooms and friendly, helpful staff. If looking for an evening meal, book ahead. There are busloads of visitors at this time of year, and management seem to have difficulty fitting in one extra traveller at teatime.

classic large hotel, great history. very quiet at the moment but staff were friendly, especially the lady behind the bar (and reception too!) Would stay again
George, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Beautiful hotel on the ground floor, lots of space to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff. The hotel has a lot of charm. However, the room is very basic and misses any charm, the mattress is old and uncomfortable and outdated bathroom. Breakfast was also very basic.
