Very nice stay
We had an enjoyable stay at this hotel. Great location, walkable to many attractions: Superdome, Bourbon St., St. Louis Cemetary No. 1, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great, good food, plenty of space to find a seat. I loved the water, tea, and coffee station which guests could access 24/7. My only complaint, was when we walk into our room, there was always a bad stinky odor, not sure if it is from the carpet (Which had a couple of stains) or what. Overall, our stay was great and we would stay here again.

Disgusted
Our room was not looked at one day out of the four night/five day stay. No new towels. Had to ask three times. Asked for shower gel to wash ourselves and they never came. Use the small soap from the bathroom sink. After three days, we thru our towels in the floor and had to use once again. So frustrated! One elevator working. On the second day we were there, the one and o it elevator didn’t work. Helped 70-75 couple walking with canes down 13 flights on stairs and helped them with their luggage. Found out later there was a back end elevator. Shame on your company. Their excuse was that there is one company in NOLA that fixes elevators. Really. All the other hotels we went in to look at Christmas decoration, their elevators worked. We checked. First time in NOLA and not impressed considering this is a hot touristic city. Bourbon Street smelled like Pee. Clean up your city please and I will come back, otherwise shame on the govt that runs New Orleans!

NOT as advertised, and potentially unsafe
No hotel parking or bellman help. My handicapped husband and I had to move luggage from street parking beside hotel with only ramp entrance available. The parking garage, which belonged to a medical clinic - closed at night, so no help there, was behind the hotel with NO hotel entrance/exit. After parking - for $20 per entry/exit - I, a 72 year old female, had to walk on a poorly lit side-street, from the back area of block to Canal Street to the hotel's front entrance. My reservation was for a roll-in shower KING room. The shower was correct, the bed was a Queen - the front desk staff seemed oblivious to everything. I checked out after the first night, instead of staying the reserved 3 nights. This hotel was NOT as advertised. The staff at checkout said I would be charged all 3 nights, they couldn't change anything. They suggested I leave a note for the manager outlining my complaint. I did, but have not heard from them - who knows if the note ever got to that person. While the room was clean and the breakfast edible, this experience was was 1 star at it's best.

I have no complaints about my stay at Hampton Inn-Canal. Antoine at the front desk & Tyler were very accommodating. Anything that I needed they didn’t hesitate to get it done. If I stay at Hampton Inn again it would definitely be because of how great the staff was.
