very unpleasant stay

We had a very unpleasant stay at Dreges Hotell. We were surprised to see upon arrival that nearly 70% of the hotel’s exterior walls were under repair. There was no mention of that during the booking process. The exterior wall of our room was completely covered with scaffolding, blocking the view from the window. There was noise in the room from people working when we checked in at 3:45 pm. They started working at 8:15 am the next morning (hammering and electric saw cutting directly on the building’s exterior walls). We had planned to sleep late before a 6-hour drive back to Bergen that day. And as if the stay was not already a nightmare, a maid made a room mistake, entered our room abruptly at 8:00 am, slammed the door, and woke us up. It looks like a big renovation work. We were there on June 26, 2025, and it seems like it will be ongoing all summer long. Be aware if you plan to book this hotel during summer 2025.

Jevnt over et utrolig fint hotell med hyggelige ansatte. God frokost. Eneste minuset var at vi bestilte rom til 1 voksen og 2 barn og betalte på forhånd. Ved avreise skulle de ha ekstra betalt for en ekstra seng. Anbefaler derfor å dobbeltsjekke at alle man bestiller for får seng inkludert i prisen. Helt ok basseng. Veldig fin lobby, restaurant og fine rom. Anbefales!
