Lovell is not on the beaten track, despite being the closest town to Bighorn Canyon and the home of a Mustang rescue center. It’s a quiet, gracious place where folk say hello and mean it when they wish you a Good Day.
The Cattlemen Motel looks to have been built in the ‘60s, with small but comfortable rooms lining an area with parking and a seating area. You are welcome to use the BBQ - in fact the manager leant us silverware and glasses when she saw we were cooking - and there’s a cute little gazebo picnic area festooned with potted flowers the management team clearly love.
They welcomed our dog - sneaking one in would not result in the same happy hello - and there’s a small grass run for close to home potty breaks, tho it’s a nice berg to walk around, with safe, quiet streets parks at both ends.
Do not expect 1000 thread count sheets, but enjoy the welcome, and a taste of true Wyoming hospitality.
