This is our second time staying here and both times have been great. Friendly staff and clean spacious rooms. It’s just a few minutes walk from several restaurants and if you’re here for the Shakespeare Festival, just a 6-8 minute walk to the theaters.

The room smelled like dog urine. The pillows and bedding were old and lumpy. The bed had hair in it. The room was small despite it being an upgraded King room. The location was great, close to downtown and parking was easy.

The room was very clean. The check in staff was friendly and thorough. There were a lot of breakfast choices available. The only area I gave it a 3 is the room itself. It was definitely dated, and the balcony sliding door didn’t lock. It had a wooden dowel on the inside so someone from the outside could not open it. However, the bed was very comfortable.

From the easy check-in process to the personalized maid/cleaning service to the complimentary breakfast that was surprisingly good and had many choices for us, The Bard’s Inn was the perfect lodging place for our return to Ashland after a long absence.
