Great location
Karla, 1-night trip

6/10 Okay

The location is amazing! Small older motel was perfect for our stay and price. Could use some TLC in areas.
Julie, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Great experience, but could use some updates.
Ashley, 3-night trip

4/10 Poor

Very outdated and run down property. The location is great but not enough to save this place. The smells were really the hardest part to get over. Very stinky, stained carpets and just plain filthy!
Gillian, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Right in downtown. Great location!
Lucas, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Hotel is in a great location with great views of the lake. Right in town so walkable to shops and restaurants and harbor. Hotel is old (1950’s) and is in disrepair. Buckets in hallway to catch rainwater from leaking roof. Room doors are loose from the hinges and need to be lifted to close them.
Gregory, 3-night trip

4/10 Poor

Hotel was run down, not clean, broken windows, swarm of flies in the lobby. Not the kind of hotel Expedia should be using.
James, 3-night trip

2/10 Terrible

The water was hot, They need vase improvements on repairs. Staff was very friendly out of their control for conditions of the building and rooms!
Nancu, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

We felt the biggest asset to this hotel was the outside patio facing Lake Superior. unfortunately, we never sat out there because it was generally unkept and lots of bird droppings. The windows in our room were also so full of bird droppings, so disgusting we were reluctant to open our drapes.
David, 2-night trip

travis, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

There is no air-conditioning. This was fine as it cooled off in the evenings while we were there. Hopefully it does for you as well. Very friendly Staff. No issues at all. Its not up to date. Its perfect! Maybe a bit over priced. Worlds greatest doughnuts right next door. 😋
Vincent, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

I had a wonderful experience at the Shoreline Inn! The location in downtown Grand Marais right on the water was lovely and convenient to shops, restaurants, and a bookstore! Staff members Monica and Carmen were so helpful. I look forward to staying here again in the future! Thank you.
Patricia Oaster, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Nice to find a lower price than other hotels and to be right on Lake Superior. It’s an older building with leaks and some issues. But the bed was comfortable, and it helps to have a fridge and microwave available.
Margaret, 3-night trip

2/10 Terrible

The bedding was from the late 1980’s. After taking to a handful of local community business owners I learned the owner of this property also owns three more in town. The conditions were appalling- mold, dirt, furnishings broken, and luke warm water and way to drain tub. I met former staff who informed me that the owner resides out of state and never checks in. I am appalled that state and city allows these buildings to be operational. To top it off I heard from three sources that the local food pantry has been used at times to provide breakfast items for guests. This is outrageous.
Patio furniture that was mismatched, in disrepair and dilapidated. Ruined the natural beauty and overall tidiness of this amazing community.
Missing door knob on hotel room. Falling ceiling tiles and water stain molded carpets.
Tiny Blow dryer that barely worked and falling apart notebook. Board games, books and furniture throughout falling apart.
Squatter like conditions in a hotel with paying guests.
Angela, 2-night trip

8/10 Good

This right on Lake Superior with great views!
Rodney E, 1-night trip

2/10 Terrible

Great location, that’s it. It was an old property, not kept up. Our faucet in the bathroom was loose, floors weren’t clean. Ceiling in hallway falling in…. It’s lakefront but forget that.. the picture showing the lakefront patio must have been 20 years old. It was disgusting! Seagull poop everywhere, dirty and all the lounge chair cushions should have been replaced 10 years ago. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more money and stay elsewhere.
Spence, 2-night trip

4/10 Poor

Staff were nice, and the location was excellent. Great water views. Easy walk to everything in Grand Marais. However, carpeting was too old to look clean, there were two wet towels from previous guests hanging on the back of the bathroom door. Towels were frayed. Found mouldy bread in the breakfast area, where both coffee carafes had orange handles marked "not decaf." Again, nice staff, but the place needs a re-do.
David, 3-night trip

4/10 Poor

The staff was nice, and location is great. The building needs a lot of work. Our bathroom sink was clogged the whole time despite several efforts to fix. There were buckets in the hallway to catch the water from the leaking roof. Looks like general maintenance has been neglected. Liked that it was dog friendly.
Tom, 2-night trip

6/10 Okay

Was fine for a night stay, but the property, room and amenities feel old. Breakfast was somewhat limited and felt it could have started earlier. Staff was friendly, but this place needs some TLC.
Nick, 1-night trip

8/10 Good

Spectacular sunrise
Margaret, 1-night trip

10/10 Excellent

Nice place, great view
Craig, 2-night trip

10/10 Excellent

My go to place, it’s funky and outdated, but I love that about this place. It just has a 1960-79’s vibe.
