What a great place to stay! Our room was nice and clean. A bit rustic, but you're on Vieques! You can tell Skip really cares about this place he has built over the years. Swimming pool! He offered free to use beach towels, chairs, and snorkeling gear. A very short walk to the "Esperanza strip". Would definitely stay again!

Love this little town and Casa de Tortuga has fantastic amenities! Just a quick overnight stay for us for visiting the bio bay but plan to return and have a longer stay. Great little town, all walkable, and fantastic restaurants close by. Host is super friendly and helpful!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The location was excellent and only a stone's throw away from the restaurants and tour pick up locations. The vibe was lovely and the pool was quite beautiful. Check in process was easy and was a 10 - 15 min drive from the ferry. Only wish our stay was longer!

Moderate your expectations

There aren't many options on Vieques for large groups, so we were grateful to find this place. However, note that moderating your expectations will do a lot to improve your stay. The owner is abrasive, so be prepared. Our room had A/C units that worked, and the room was adequate for our family. The pool was small but kids enjoyed it. Location is a plus -- close to store, main strip with restaurants/bars, and the shore. However, the other families that vacationed with us had a more difficult time -- cold shower water, A/C that didn't work, dirty rooms, etc.

The location is great, a short walk to the beach, but away from noisy bars. Clean apartment with aging furniture. We liked the outdoor spaces for hanging out, the patio for our unit and the pool area. The little pool has lots a shade, which is great in the heat of the day. But property maintenance is lacking, with broken furniture by the pool and "junk" lying around. With a little more maintenance, this would be a fantastic spot.
