Unique small hotel in unspoilt nature
The hotel is on an island of the Periyar river, surrounded by incredibly beautiful forests and streams. The best part is that it is 5 km away from the nearest village and there are almost no people around. A unique situation. When you sit on the lawn and watch the river rushing over its rocky bed, or when you bath in one of the natural pools in the river (or in the hotel pool), it feels like paradise. Moreover there are a number of activities like rafting or trekking in the forest. It is expensive but worth it. Only the food was a disappointment initially: they provided quantity rather than quality until we told them precisely what we wanted.
