Staff was not available. During the check-in, we only got our key room, no maps, recomendations, indications, nothing. The omelette had bolied eggs (presumably leftovers) and the food selection was poor. Very small room, shower and maintenance needed. The only good thing is location. Walking distance from the city centre, shoping mall and restaurants.

Old small hotel in Rovaniemi, the location is convenient, staff extremely amicable and friendly. The only inconvenients are the stairs since there are no elevators and the room’s bathroom which is very small. However, if you are staying for just a few nights, I think the hotel is a good option.

Not a bad place to stay. Room was nice, quiet (except some random low frequency intermittent noise), but it didn't last into the night. Close and convenient to downtown. A short walk, but not bad. Staff was friendly and breakfast wasn't bad.

Lovely central hotel to explore Rovanemi

We had a wonderful time staying at the hotel it was in the perfect place very close to town. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty only complaint we had was buffet prices were changed half way through our stay and we weren’t told in advance only when we went to pay. Reception staff were very knowledgeable and went the extra mile finding a sledge for my daughter to enjoy the snow. Sauna was lovely, clean only thing to say is watch your head in the sauna as the ceiling is quite low

If you're looking for luxurious accommodations, I'd pass. It's a little rustic. Almost spartan. But it was clean, quiet, comfortable, very friendly staff, and great breakfast buffet! Highly recommend if you're looking for a good deal and a good meal.

Like other reviews have said, the rooms are tiny and theres no stairs - but the clerk carried my luggage up and I wasnt spending much time in the room anyway. Within easy walking distance of town, staff were exceptional and went above and beyond to help. The guy who checked me in was incredible, 10/10. I thought it was cozy despite being outdated. Its servicable and warm, but nothing luxurious. Id stay there again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is close to the city center and a very convenient mall and restaurants. Great location. Only 9 minutes walking if there is not ice. Lordi Square, Nili restaurant, Pure burger and more all by walking distance even the bus to Santa Calus Village and airport. At the mall there is a Article Park office where you can be able to book the aurora tour and more. Also a supermarket. The breakfast is good many options. Sauna available only two hours based in a schedule. A little expensive but is close to de city. I booked two weeks before and l stayed four nights.

Hotel Aakenus has a good location , friendly and helpful staff . Rooms are basic but clean . Bathroom however is under average and urgently in need of renovation. With only 1,5 sqm including shower , toilet and sink it is impossible to keep the bathroom dry and properly shower. Breakfast is good , some fresh bread , eggs , yoghurt and fruit . For a short layover the hotel is acceptable but definitely overpriced. For these standards a budget of 100-130 euro per night would be fine but no 270-300 euro per night. I would give the hotel a 2,5 - 3 star overall .

Hotel was about a 2 block walk from downtown. Plenty of on site parking. Room was a decent size and clean. Came with bed sheets and towels. There's a mini fridge and small coffee station. The only "issue" I had was that check in was at 3pm. We had arrived at 1pm. They do have a luggage area so you can walk around without your bags until checkin

Clean & Comfortable - Good Location & Breakfast

Great Location 4- 5 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and town square. Clean Comfortable rooms and bathroom , Older style but efficient with all amenities. Good Breakfast but be sure to go early because when they run out they do not refill. Disappointed child at 9.30 to find no bacon available. Reception Ladies were friendly and willing to offer assistance from finding Ice rink, restaurants or booking Taxi's.
