Perfect

I had such a relaxing night here, the cabin was lovely and quiet and private. Most of all the food was sublime (dinner in restaurant of a la carte) as well as breakfast. Staff were all lovely.

One night stay was not enough.

Lovely location with character properties and great value with an excellent breakfast included. Only downside was the magnetic door lock which offered virtually no security.

Lovely Place

This is a lovely place to stay and the rooms are lovely. The hot tub was great as was the food in the Coach House. The only problem we had was the check in is at 4 (which is quite late) and our room was not ready until around 4.30. After we got in everything was perfect

Great location and restaurant. Slight room issues

We stayed in the Classic room within the beautiful manor house, and overall had a pleasant experience. The on-site restaurant served a lovely dinner, and breakfast the next morning was delicious. Fresh, well-prepared, and a great start to the day. There were a few small issues in the room: a couple of light bulbs weren’t working (one in the room, one in the en-suite), the bed wasn't very comfy, the en-suite was very warm with no way to adjust the temperature, and we were only provided with half a toilet roll and no spares. These didn’t ruin the stay, but a bit more attention to detail would have made it even better.

We had a very enjoyable stay in the hotel. All the staff were freindly and helpful. Food was well cooked and presented big portions The hotel was set in lovely grounds. Also hotel was in a good location easy for Barnstable Lynton, Lynmouth and National Trust properties. Would not hesitate to stay there agsin.

Fantastic lodge & setting, only thing that let it down was the shower flooding! As we were only there for one night we didn’t want to make a thing of it & be disturbed by maintenance staff. So instead informed a staff member upon our checkout & we were slightly disappointed not to receive an apology & they were really quite blasé about it. Shame as it was nearly perfect!

Excellent.

Excellent all round. Very good friendly staff, made us feel welcome immediately. Definitely would stay again. Used the restaurant and menu was very good, well prepared and professional. Breakfast menu excellent too.

Disappointing

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by the cleanliness of the Garden Suite that we stayed in. Upon arrival, we noticed that there were cobwebs, spiders, black mould, dog hairs and marks on the duvet. We requested that our room was serviced the next day, however, we returned in the evening to find that it was the exact same and the staff had just replaced the water and soap. The grounds are lovely and the breakfast was great but I would recommend viewing this as a step up from glamping rather than a 4 star hotel if you are considering booking.

A stay with a hint of grandeur

Beautiful peaceful setting with a luxury feel. The gardens at a sense of grandeur to the grounds. Plenty of onsite parking. Our room was in the main house. Comfortable king size bed with a very spacious elegant ensuite with large walk-in shower. The restaurant is based in the Coach House and serves an extensive breakfast menu, beautifully presented and totally delicious. Snacks and meals are available at lunchtimes and evenings but were a little expensive, as were the bar and bedroom mini bar tariffs. The Grange is a little remote so you will need your own transport. 20 minute drive to lovely town of Lynmouth.
Tracey, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

Firstly the location and staff were 1st class, the main house is old so i do take this into account, but the room was boiling hot with only an old fan to cool you down, internet was non functional with no phone signal, finally breakfast did not start until 8am - not good for a business guest, I think with some minor tweaks this could be a top location and i would stay again.

Last minute booking off trivago & great little find. Received a very warm welcome on arrival, lovely staff throughout stay. Fabulous evening meal with duet playing and an amazing breakfast. Highly recommend.

Really lovely stay here. Staff were friendly, helpful and worked together well as a team which shone through. We stayed in a cottage room in the garden which was well appointed, clean, spacious and had an outdoor verandah area for sitting. It was peaceful and well maintained. Other parts of the grounds were not so well kept but as a whole it was fine. A little off the beaten track but the food was excellent and generous so no need to go elsewhere.
