Hotel great. Guests not so much.
First time at a Hampton Inn and will definitely return here and try others. Very impressed. Only issue was that many guests far too relaxed (bare, wet feet in the elevator, pajamas and stocking feet at breakfast.)

Great spot in downtown portsmouth.
To entrance is within the porte cochere. Middle of the block. You can avoid paying the $40 per day valet charge and self park at the hanover st garage or the foundry garage. We parked at the foundry garage for $1/ hr. Its a 4 minute walk from the hotel. Everything in downtown portsmouth is within walking distance and felt very safe. Strawberry Banke is a 15 minute walk and quite enjoyable. We ate at the hearth food court, it was lovely. Theres plenty of choices for food and beverage within walking distance. The only dislike i had for the hotel, was that the bed was to hard for my liking. The water pressure and space was great however. We would stay here again and i would recommend it.
