Stayed here with my family of 4. We had a great time. Staff was very friendly, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Beach is literally right outside, beware of rip currents. Surfers paradise!

Beautiful beachfront hotel with wonderful ocean view from our room. Just a few steps from the beach and is pet friendly. Vida Hermosa just a short walk and had excellent food and is dog friendly also. Staff was very pleasant and even helped with our luggage.

Nice location along Playa Hermosa, which has black sands and great waves for surfing. Nice pool for swimming - the beach itself is not a good swimming or snorkeling spot due to the strong waves, so pool access was great. Beautiful sunsets!

Friendly and helpful staff, helped us get reservations at the Manuel Antonio Park when we were having trouble with the site. Right off the beach enjoyed watching the surfers. Walk done the beach to several nice restaurants. Pleasant view from balcony with comfortable chairs.

This hotel has only 8 rooms, immaculate grounds (gates and shrubbery separate the bordering properties so it’s very secluded), a stones throw from the ocean, a staff that goes over and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. They arranged our massages, horseback ride on the beach and gave great advice on the best places to eat. We stayed in the upstairs oceanfront 2 bedroom suite. It had a wide “L” shaped balcony 25’ facing the ocean and about 20’ facing the pool with table, chairs and sofa. This is definitely our “GO TO” resort every year!

WE loved the Backyard Hotel. We wanted a beachfront hotel that had local flavor and that is exactly what it was.We could just sit on the balcony and watch the waves. Just a few steps down and you were on the beach.It was peaceful and quiet and away from all the noise and crowds. The staff were always very helpful.

The staff at the welcome desk were very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful and right off the beach where you can walk along the water to find a good meal or drink to watch the surfers. The rooms are well maintained and the ocean waves are heard from the rooms.
