The cleanliness and condition of the Japanese style room was excellent with separate entrance, washroom, toilet and 3 tatami areas giving more than ample space for 3 guests. Breakfast was good and the staff efficient and helpful. Didn’t try the onsen as just a brief stop

Charming property exceptionally clean, special mention of the wonderful onsen, enjoyed our most unusual experience of sleeping in a traditional Japanese room with tatami mats. Our dinner in the restaurant was superb, kudos to the skilled chef! Matsumoto is a lovely town with a slow paced vibe , so different from other Japanese cities.

We spent two nights at this hotel in a Japanese style room. We found the room comfortable and spacious. I very much enjoyed the public bath in the hotel and visited AM and PM for a relaxing soak. The hotel is a quirky mix of modern and traditional and we appreciated this.We had a wonderful breakfast buffet each morning in the hotel restaurant and the staff was always gelpful and kind. We found everything very walkable to this hotel. The station, castle, art museum, shopping, restaurants and coffee/tea/sweets are not far. We would definitely stay here again and we really loved the vibe of Motsumoto!

Great location close to all attractions. Reception staff is excellent and courteous. Too bad staff at breakfast is unpleasant and unhelpful. When expressed concern about an allergy , response was that this is what they have. The hotel is located in an old building that was renovated and they kept the charm of the old place. .
