Great hotel in a spectacular location. Currently undergoing renovation but it didn't affect our stay. Excellent restaurant with a good choice.

Rooms need updating

We arrived and at first glance it looks very beautiful and the views are picturesque. The room was very different, they was no welcome pack about the locality and little tea coffee etc ,we were disappointed definitely needs upgrading and the TV kept going off on some channels. The breakfast was okay, although it has great potential we will not be going back

Raven hall

A great place to stay if you're walking or cycling in the area and need a base. I was satisfied with the accommodation for the price and included breakfast. Room we got was at the back, very dated, a bit noisy from the boiler units outside and furniture was uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK.

Stay at Grand Villa Hights

Wedding venue took precedence over other guest! No longer bay view restaurant, no golf course does not exist anymore. Gardens closed off to non wedding guests

The Hotel grounds are stunning and there is a gorgeous view across Robin Hoods Bay. The room we stayed in was dog friendly but a bit dated although it was nice and clean. The mattress was a bit soft for our liking but the rest of the room was fine for a one night stay. The walks you can do from the hotel are amazing so loved the location.

Wonderful!!!!!

I LOVED this hotel. I’m a world touring cyclist and I love quiet and remote. This hotel was FANTASTIC. Idyllic setting high above the bay. Beautiful grounds. Lovely gardens. Stunning. The hotel just had a makeover and it looks beautiful! My room overlooked the sea—clean and comfortable and a great bathtub! Breakfast was plentiful and high quality. A dreamy stop as I pedal the UK. Many, many thanks!

Hotel is in a fantastic location overlooking the bay with plenty of local walks, dog friendly and staff very friendly. We had evening meal and breakfast both very nice, hotel is going through refurbishment and the plans look amazing

Because of the fab views of Robin Hoods bay. I took a punt and booked into this old hotel. From walking through the door I was blown away by how the communal areas have been modernised. Even though the staff were obviously busy, I suggest they quickly learn to be a little friendlier/ warm to guests (they weren't bad, just not engaging).

They are in the middle of renovation but the room we had was brilliant with the best veiws over the sea and Robin hoods Bay.

2/10 Poor

Worst stay in 2025. Poor service. Poor attitude.

Terrible receptionist who coudnt bring herwelf to smile at arriging guests. Had indifferent attitude. Both hot and cold.taps in shower produce scoling got water. Unable to take a shower. Loud wedding music until midnight. Do not stay here unless yoy are part of a qedding party. This is a wedding venue not a hotel

We’ve been on a number of occasions and is always a great place to visit. The views of the bay are fantastic and the staff are all super-friendly!

Hotel with great history.

This hotel has so much amazing history. Really find it hard to believe that the current owners need to rename it ! And such an inappropriate name too. The bedroom are very tired. The bedrooms need a massive overhaul and bringing tastefully uptodate. The garden nearest the hotel are ok but the gardens and paths down to the 'castle' like area need attention as they could be beautiful. This hotel has the potential to be amazing just hope owners make the best of it. The staff were all very pleasant. Service was good. Drinks were expensive. Breakfast was very good.

Not the best

Downstairs entrance hallway is impressive. Although, you have no idea if you're walking into the right place, as there's no signage anywhere on or around the building. As you travel upstairs to the rooms the decor is pretty shabby for the price. I understand they are doing the rooms up - we had first hand experience of this when they started sandpapering the walls in the room next to us at 7.45 in the morning. The restaurant food was nice, and the restaurant staff were great. We got lucky being sat next to the window as the rest of the room is really dark and depressing. It cost us £16 for a large vodka with a splash of soda and a lager. Luckily we had been warned beforehand that the drinks were overpriced, so we only had the one there. It is geared up more for weddings but i can't see guests being happy at paying those prices for what you get as a whole. I wouldn't stay there again.

Absolutely stunning hotel in beautiful grounds with the most amazing views. My dog had a lovely time walking around the gardens . The breakfast was great and the evening meal was delicious. The staff were really friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Hardly noticed the current building works and would reccommend to anyone.
