Staff friendly, room tidy, did not have breakfast at the site, just used it as a place to sleep, no issues.

Really lovely hotel, the lady on reception was great- so welcoming and friendly. Room was perfect just for a small get away over night with a lovely restaurant and beer garden.

Fantastic value.

Clean room with very helpful staff. Unfortunately I did not have breakfast due to my early starts. The Wi-Fi was free easy to connect to. Great value and very comfortable nights sleep.

8/10 Very good

Breakfast had good choices and was excellent quality. Do bear in mind that it's in a separate building so you could get wet or cold dependent on the weather. Gets busy at times so can be a wait for service. Room was good value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. Free wifi in the hotel was good.

Recommended.

Under new management speaking to general manager underway in phased refurbishment of hotel and restaurant. Food quality is good and restaurant staff are very warm n tentative. Hotel needs modernising.

Even though the exterior of the restaurant and accommodation are undergoing refurbishment we had a lovely stay at the coach and horses @ Castleton. The Room was perfect for our two night stay and the optional breakfast was delicious.

Good one night stay.

Check in was early with helpful friendly staff. Room was small with one chair if you don’t like sitting on the bed. Well equipped with the usual kettle, hairdryer, extra pillows etc. on a busy dual carriageway so road noise but didn’t bother us. Pub and restaurant in a different building so no noise from there. A good value for money stay.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I was made to feel very welcome. It was clean and tidy and good value for money. Good parking and very quiet. The room was small but the bed was comfy. Had a good nights sleep and the wifi was good.

Little Gem

We had a great stay, very comfortable, clean, quiet room, staff brilliant, went above and beyond to help us. Had a meal in the evening, which was really lovely, and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely come back again.

Value for money hotel between Newport and Cardiff

Was met by a very friendly receptionist. Got password for the free WiFi from the desk (signal strength is moderate). Room was clean and well equipped with all essentials. Hotel has many parking spaces available. Had traditional breakfast (£11.95) at the restaurant before leaving which was decent. Prices for rest of the options on the menu were a bit high. Overall, will stay again if needed, thanks!

2/10 Poor

Cleaner must have had a day off .

Where do I start , I don’t think this hotel should be open until the planned refurb . It’s disgusting , diy paint job , blood on pillow , rusty heater , shower had hair over and the plastic casing broken . Last but not least the sink plug hole has something left from previous hotel visitors.

6/10 Good

Restaurant closed so no dinner or breakfast available, only found out on check in.

Would have paid more for what we got - recommended

Stayed for weekend, and we'd stay again if in the area. The food was lovely -far better than you usually expect invluded with the meal. If we had paid another £100 on top of the room price, we would have felt it was value for money. Room very clean (to be picky, a touch small but fine for a weekend) and staff lovely and attentive

One of the most quietest rooms we have stayed in. It was what we asked for! Breakfast was let down by items left off plated food and when pointed out unfortunately staff felt it was acceptable to not be truthful by saying we were ordering off an old menu! Which was not true the menus we were given were exactly the same as their on line menus. Needless made up excuse. Needless to say for our 3 day stay we didn't eat at restaurant again.

4/10 Fair

The room I stayed wasn't cleaned daily, it would be nice if the rooms could be knocked to confirm or introduce a 'do not disturb' sign that one can use. Secondly the floor felt cold, I wonder if this was because I was on the ground floor. I had to switch off the fan because I started having a mild cough not sure if it was related to the cold floors.
