Nice place but watch out for the parking surcharge
Well priced accommodation and pleasant stay. Just disappointing that after choosing this hotel for its price and quiet location, we then got charged £5 for parking to stay at a fairly rural location is called ‘Rectory Farm’ & all around are fields, not usually somewhere you’d expect to have to pay a surcharge for?

Nice place
Nice king size bed and big shower for 2 people. Bed comfortable and house and grounds beautiful. Only issue can hear next rooms plugging into sockets and doors closing which woke us up.

Convenient for Cambridge; no frills but clean and everything we needed. Would have said good value for money but very disappointing that a charge for car parking has been introduced.

Traditional British Cottage Feel
We reserved one of the smaller rooms and it was adequate for our stay. Traditional British cottage feel. It’s a bit outside of Cambridge so getting to places to eat etc, you had to walk 20-25 mins to the few nearby restaurants or taxi around. The setting however is beautiful.

Funeral
Upgraded to the main house and after seeing the rooms in the annex I was disappointed with my upgrade. The rooms in the annex were nicer and had nicer beds.they were also slightly bigger. So not sure what I had for my upgrade??

Cambridge Visit.
After reading some negative reviews, I can only say my experience was excellent. We stayed in the chalets which were all beautifully furnished & spotless.Very near to park & ride & a super Garden Centre 2mins away. Excellent location would certainly go again.

Lovely room. Receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. I requested a bath for my room and this was provided. My room was very quiet, bed very comfortable and clean. Will definitely use this accommodation again when visiting Cambridge

A Disappointing Stay
The room was comfortable and quiet. However the bathroom was cold. We worked out how to switch on the towel rail from outside the room. In the cold weather it needed to be switched on. The breakfast service was well meaning but rather chaotic. Our main concern was that the room was not made up after our first night and tea, coffee, milk were not replaced. It has the potential to be very good but seemed to be run on a shoestring.

Unfair charges
At it's most basic, Rectory Hall is completely fine. I have stayed here a few times for work in Cambridge. All the rooms I stayed in are perfectly fine. The problem is the ambiguous and unfair charging policy. This time I was charged for parking overnight. No explanation was given. My card was just charged. I did choose to have breakfast for the 1st time in ages, which is £16. Not only is it overpriced but it is poor-average.

Excellent!
This is a stylish, warm, comfortable hotel. The room was in pristine condition. Bed comfortable. The shower was modern and excellent. The breakfast was top-notch. On the downside it was essential to keep the windows closed as the M 11 is very close. Also the carpark, reception and hotel are separate from each other. In the rain that would be a REAL drag. I recommend you park outside Reception the drive to the hotel then park. Also there are stairs we did not know about. At 87 and 78 that can be a challenge.

Cold experience
Cold experience as the windows were single glazed the heater was noisy and 1 of the radiators wasn’t working. Reception wasn’t open after breakfast so we found the manager the kitchen. Explained our problems including lack of electrical sockets and the flush needing to be pressed twice. All these points were (outwardly) gratefully received
