A bit tatty but staff made up for it

Staff lovely and nice breakfast, although carpets were a bit tatty in places and a clump of hair in shower on arrival and toilet tissue behind toilet.

Nice stay but tired hotel

The staff here were fab and so friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfy but the hotel is tired. I imagine being an old building the upkeep must be huge! The bathroom definitely needed an upgrade and the windows need refurb/ replacement. We didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food. Having said this it wouldn't stop me staying here again. The hotel is in a good central location.

6/10 Good

The hotel is in a great location, amazing sea view.it’s an old building with a lot of character.the room itself was comfortable but bathroom very dated and dark Staff very friendly and helpful, dealt with any requests straight away, even though they seemed short staffed. We were on room only basis so can’t comment on food.

A nice place to stay for a few days. The lack of evening food may be awkward in bad weather. The lack of parking is a problem.
Tom, 4-night trip

Our room was quite large, the en-suite was a very good size. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Didn’t eat in the hotel, we will definately book again.

2 night stay

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times. On this occasion my stay was okay. Nice room with sea view. The room was comfortable and clean but there was no hand soap and there was insufficient shower gel (30ml) for one person yet alone two - for 2 nights (the room was booked for two people) - Luckily I had taken my own soap and toiletries. Breakfast was enjoyable and the staff were friendly.
Paul, 2-night trip

Great place to stay, friendly staff and great place for an escape , will definitely book again when coming back to Exmouth. Car park free outside but to find it could be challenging, or you can pay the hotel to use theirs (booking needed tho) Overall 👍👍😎
Marco, 2-night trip

6/10 Good

Not a bad little hotel, but needs some renovation works. Some areas look untidy and need a lick of paint and other areas are in need of some more major works. I was staying in the Courtyard rooms. The corridor and my room smelt of musty damp area and didn't improve one bit. But a great location and friendly staff.

Disappointed

Unwelcomed upgrade that was never wanted or asked for. Rooms are very tired. Terribly noisy family upstairs from 0500 toddler literally tap dancing on paper thin ceiling Requested courtyard room for quietness

Additional charged on breakfast

Couldn’t get a parking spot had to park on the street as there is only 6 spaces and the room which was up the lift down the stairs and turn left which was hard carrying heavy bags and when in the room couldn’t open the window as it was secured tightly was told if I wanted breakfast I had to tell them the night before and if I decided to ask the next morning there is a additional charge

Ideal hotel

Very friendly lady on front desk. Quick check in. £10 to park which we weren’t aware of. Clean spacious rooms, usb sockets & plenty tea & coffee. Walking distance to beach & town centre, park across the road.
Very comfortable bed, good sized room
Plenty of choice

Lovely night stay
Louise, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

We had a very pleasant overnight stay in a very nice room. Our only issue was the bathroom door was very badly warped and could only be closed if slammed. It then took a great deal of force to open it. If we had been staying for more than 1 night we would have asked to change rooms but decided to put up with it as we wouldn't be spending much time in the room. We only had dealings with the reception staff but all were very helpful and friendly.
Charles, 1-night trip

4/10 Fair

Wouldn’t stay again unfortunately

Reception were lovely - we were put in the annex building right at the back of the hotel, room unclean dush on the sides and windows. Shower had mould round the rims of things - and the room had a very damp like smell - this morning on check out I felt like I couldn’t breathe. Condensation everywhere, wall paper coming off the wall- guessing due to damp. Nice location and staff very lovely and friendly but wouldn’t stay again. There is about 8 parking spaces for a 52 bed and you have to find your own parking if you don’t get one of these spaces. Side streets or somewhere else in town.
