Quaint Hotel, Great Service

Quaint hotel that we used as a home base for all of our adventures. Great continental breakfast, helpful staff, and unique charm.

Good stay, convenient location, well decorated and clean. Only downside is that the tap water has a strong sulfur smell.

Rooms are very small and outdated if you book a small double. Hotel in itself is nice. Beds were comfy

Okay Stay

Room and bathroom are pretty snug. Opted for the location to be close to the city and not as far from the airport. The included breakfast is decent.

A hotel just outside Reykjavik but well worth it

A really pleasant stay in a very friendly hotel. Staff very helpful, continental breakfast good and could have as much as you like. 20 min drive from Reykjavik downtown and plenty of free parking at hotel. Hotel restaurant next door very good, with again very attentive staff. We will return

fun place, great location!

Hotel Viking was such a funny and charming little place — we really enjoyed our stay! It had great parking and was perfectly located between Reykjavík and the airport, which made it super convenient for our itinerary. The blackout curtains were fantastic — a must-have when it’s still daylight at midnight! The hotel has a very kitschy, themed vibe that added a fun twist to the experience. It definitely didn’t take itself too seriously, which we loved. All in all, it was perfect for our needs, and I’d definitely recommend it to others looking for something a little different and well-located.

8/10 Very good

The rooms are very small. But staff is accommodating and very friendly. Beware, there is construction that begins early in the morning so if you have a room facing the restaurant you may be awoken.
Tatia, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

A uniquely themed hotel, clean and comfortable, offering everything we needed.
Sandra, 1-night trip

This place was so cute and cozy. We loved it.
Kendra, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Was perfect for a quick one night stay, rooms were small which is ok and bathroom small which is fine but hard to get ready in. The breakfast was ok. The decor was cool staff was nice.
Yolanda, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

Not worth 300$ a night

Hotel is ok, nice common areas, all in wood with the viking theme. Includes continental breakfast in a nice dinning room. Not a lot of options. Bathroom shower was kind of dirty on the cottages. And if they are having construction in front of the property, they should let you know in advance. Uncomfortable to get from the front entrance to the cottage, and they ended up breaking something so no flushing was allowed on the morning of checkout. Average hotel, definitely not worth the 300$ a night.

Clean and accommodating, thought it was more Viking so was surprised to see something more like a hotel. No issues but would like Icelandic authentic next time.
