Not as expected
I booked the Torrs Wrren Hotel on 14th Januaryfor B&B for Sunday 19th. Free cancellation before 10.00 on 16th. Pay at Torres Warren.
On 15th I received the following wia Hotels.com:
Dear Guest;
For your arrival for Friday 19/01 please make your way to our sister hotel The Harbour House in Portpatrick , where we have a room allocated for you.
We have tried to upgrade your room type & we hope that you enjoy the Harbour House Hotel. We have allocated to you a 2 bedroom Apartment . Breakfast is included, delivered to your room & is Continental.
On the same day 15th as far I remember I replied to this pointing out that I was booked for SUNDAY 19th not Friday and asking for confirmation. I also rang both the Torres Warren and The Harbour House Hotel but got nobody on the phone. I left a message at Torres Warren again asking for confirmation that it was for Sunday..
No reply
On 15th at 13.53 my account was debited by the hotel one day before I could have cancelled for free. I was unaware of this for a day or two.
On 18th I had a telephone call to confirm that I was booked into the Harbour House Hotel as above. The caller did not seem to be aware of my communications sand apologized for the mistake on the date. Anyway I accepted the apology and the booking having looked up the reviews on Hotels.com
On 19th we made our way to Portpatrick to the Harbour House Hotel.
The situation was in a negative way not as expected -entrance shabby, breakfast very poor, bar closed at 20
