Lovely seaside hotel

Great location on the seafront. I had a room with a sea view, which was lovely. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. They gave me a takeaway box on the last morning. I highly recommend the Italian restaurant next door and there are great cafes along the sea front walk.

Nice hotel on the beach. Extra parking around the back of the property was covered by cctv. Neat and tidy room, very powerful shower. Good food and service provided in the restaurant and bar.

Ok, wouldn’t stay again

Delay with food service. Woken at 4am with extremely loud water pressure noise as a basement room. Every additional water usage in the hotel produced a loud noise, in general a nice quiet room but horrendous water noise through out the night.

Staff were wonderful.
David, 4-night trip

6/10 Good

a bit disappointed

To get to the room we had to go stairs up and down, in narrow corridor with luggage. We had the impression it was in the cave... also it was not perfectly clean, espacially the breakfast table, the corridor. Actually the room itself was not too bad and calm, just less nice than in the pictures.
Mariya, 2-night trip

Get new pillows!

Pillows are terrible and the shower was a weird height but other than its a great hotel.
James, 1-night trip

Unhappy

I had booked an executive room which was supposed to have a sofa and twin head shower instead I ended up in a room that I had to squeeze past the bed banging my leg on the radiator with no sofa and windows only opened an inch in this weeks heat was not good the mattress on the bed had dips in it I kept waking up in a hole I was in room 130 which reception said was an executive room and it was the only one they could give me as my stay was just 2 days , which I don’t understand as I have had far better rooms here when only staying 1 night . I have stayed here many times but I think this will be my last visit My dinner was over cooked and dry on the first night cooked breakfast was poor quality blackpudding full of gristle and sausage and bacon so dry I couldn’t swallow, I opted for cereal and toast the second day as did a lot of the guests. You also get a free drink each night you stay which was a nice touch until the started limited the selection to draft cider Fosters beer or glass of wine none of which I drink . I Can’t believe a hotel with such a lovely location can’t do better for there guests
Executive room not
Not a sofa
Gillian, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

Weekend Break

Everyone who works at the hotel (reception, restaurant, bar, cleaners etc) are absolutely fantastic and customer service was great. Room was spotless though a little cold as the radiator wouldn't switch on but the bed so comfortable which provided a great sleep under the warm quilt. Glad I booked the breakfast as it was freshly cooked and there was lots of options. The only slight downside is that there are lots of stairs (and I mean lots!) so getting to your room is a mission if you're not near the reception so not ideal for disabled guests or, like me, just recuperating from a knee operation! Possibly the hotel could add a note in their description so if guests do have a problem with stairs then they can request in advance a more accessible room.
Barry, 2-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

arrived at hotel and staff were very eager to help and also upgraded the next day and I was so shocked by how good the rooms are and I would highly reccomend staying there if you are looking for somewhere in the Sunderland/South Shields area even for a night away
