Not so grand anymore
Once upon a time this was a nice hotel. Right now it’s overdue for a renovation. Bathroom is antiquated. The cast iron tub from 1960 is rusting though. The toilet is so small and low that it belongs in an elementary school. Yet…the bed was OK and the tv was huge and modern. The hotel has an included hot breakfast in a converted meeting room on the 4th floor. The inlet station was nice, but the other foods, not so much. The wort thing was the acoustics in the room. If just 4 people were talking, the echoing was loud, almost intolerable. Sadly, I will not return to this hotel because of bugs. There were a couple of live critters around the mini fridge. That’s a deal breaker for us.

South Padre escape
This was a very nice place to stay for the price. The room was very spacious with a sofa for watching TV and had a small table with chairs. The bathtub was old but the shower head was newer and had good water pressure and nice hot water. Overall a great place to stay.

Disappointing
The people are extremely nice. Unfortunately, we had a problem with roaches. So did the couple that we traveled with. It made it hard to eat breakfast knowing this. We work in the Pest Control industry so we know it’s not just limited to one room when you have this problem, typically. The bathtub was visibly worn and needed some simple attention to solve the problem. It just seemed basically rundown. The front desk people were very nice. I don’t blame them.

Awesome experience
Overall, I loved how clean and friendly the staff was. Room was good sized and plenty of space for more than 2 people. Showers were a bit disappointing as I feel they could use an upgrade but not a deal breaker. What sold me was the connecting walkway to Claytons next door so that was a HUGE plus as I didn't have to drive after having a few cold ones. That's a win win situation. Access to the beach was another plus as well. I will definitely reuturn again

New Year’s Eve
I have stayed there before and the place is good. The front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The pool is being remodeled so you will have to go next door to the Hilton Garden Inn. We stayed in room 306, the AC worked great. The breakfast was good. Will stay there again.
