NOT ALL ROOMS HAVE AC, pay attention to what you are booking. It’s clearly specified. Nonetheless there were people complaining about their rooms being too hot.
The YMCA in the name is not just a historical reference. This place was comfortable but definitely Christian-themed. As a woman traveling solo, I stood out. Felt awkward but nobody was openly rude or anything. I think it’d be a great place for a family trip regardless of your religion. Just don’t mention that it reminds you of the resort from “Dirty Dancing” lol.
I had trouble finding food, as I arrived after the dining hall closed (7pm). Had to drive 30 minutes to find an open restaurant. The pizza place in the “gift shop” was not open.
Check in was more focused on telling me where to park than how to find my room, or food, or anything. I didn’t know what I didn’t know, unfortunately.
Overall - unusual but comfortable, would book again.
