Wedding

Really good value for the money. Good location with walking distance to downtown.
2-night trip

8/10 Very good

It was OK. The bed was surprisingly comfortable on the TV kept us entertained and it was good for what we were there for.
Travis, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

The place was very disguesting and homeless people every where. I didn't feel comfortable staying there

Poor location but comfortable bed.

The hotel is in a sketchy location, a number of inebriated folks wondering in the vicinity. Libby is poorly lit. The room was dingy but the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the shower was clean and the water hot.
Shari, 1-night trip

The building is old the ac wouldn’t cool the room the window wouldn’t close tight. The streets sounded like Indianapolis 500. Lots of homeless people around and other people. No way in hell will I ever stay there again.

Desperate times if you have to stay here. Only light, is the ceiling fan. Fan doesn't work. Mattress are a joke. Small bathroom. No elevator.
Carroll D. Blue, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Terrible conditions. Decent location.

The rooms and lobby were nothing as pictured. The windows had curtains that wouldn't close. The furniture was filthy. No amenities in the room. My room was street facing and there was no noise insulation in the room, it was so loud. There was a lot of loud loitering all through the night outside the hotel and no hotel security.

There’s no denying the property and area it’s located in are scuzzy. The room I stayed in was ok, run down but comfortable enough for the quick overnight I spent there. The tv couldn’t be turned off so I ended up unplugging it. The fire alarm was set off at 4 AM by someone microwaving a hot pocket for 20 minutes. So… not ideal.

I did not feel safe at all. There were drug addicts surrounding the building when I arrived and they were allowed to freely come and go throughout the hotel. The room safety lock would not latch. The tv remote was not programmed. The air conditioned did not work. The advertised air transfer shuttle was non-existent. There is no elevator. The ceiling fan was coming out of the ceiling and unusable. There was no ice machines. It felt like a drug rehab building and definitely not recommended for a single female traveling alone.

2/10 Poor

This place is not for tourists.

I arrived late around 12-1a, there were many people walking in and out of hotel that looked homeles. I waited in lobby for 10 minutes before the person on duty finally told the guy standind mumbling at frontdesk window to move from window. The night staff was not helpful and didnt finish checking me in as her shift ended. So I waited another 10 min before a lady said have you neen helped. I told her I think you were checking to see if my room was ready. She then snapped at me and said oh i didn't know. Well its ready but we only have a wash cloth for you for towels. I was exhausted from a day of travel so i went to room a handicap room (Im not handicap).there was no window accept in the bathroom. It did indeed have one clean washcloth, which was the only clean item in the room. I slept with the light on fearing bugs would come out in the dark. Slept on top of the comforter and in my clothes. I did not feel safe or clean and knew I'd be checking out first thing in the morning i was not going to stay 6 more nights in this halfway house/inn/motel. I do not recommend.

I stay here everytime I’m in Anchorage. I can stay anywhere else in this city but I choose here. My new spot in town. When you come you should try the Japanese restaurant too it’s good stuff
Asim, 6-night trip

8/10 Very good

Cheap stay in Anchorage but not bad at all!

This motel is cheap (on Anchorage standards) and quite outdated but it’s way better than many reviews suggest. The staff was really helpful. Every possible issue (clogged drain etc.) were addressed immediately! Even at 10pm. It was unusually cold for a couple of days in June and the central heating had been turned off - the hotel owner/manager went herself to a store, purchased a good space heater and brought it to me. The bed was comfortable, sheets were clean, hot water in the shower that you don’t have to wait for 5 min, internet connection (wifi) was reasonable. If you don’t like junkies and homeless in the parking lot - don’t go to Anchorage in summer! They are everywhere - around a cheap motel and around a 4* Hilton. The hotel is not in control of them. And the police don’t care. I was going on a business trip to Anchorage and refused to pay 300/night for a very basic chain hotel (and this is on a government rate; commercial rates are way higher). I chose Econo Inn to save some government funds and it turned out to be ok. Downsides: (1) outdated interiors both in the room and in the hallways; (2) noisy - bad sound proofing and 2 airports nearby (one with touristic turboprops flying low, another one with F-22s starting to fly at 8am sharp every morning); (3) some renovation going on permanently; (4) no daily room service. I stayed 6 nights - and I would have moved to a different place if that one was bad. I didn’t.

There’s a reason it’s one of the cheapest places to stay in Anchorage

Nice place, not the Ritz, you might want to wear shoes in the shower, but secure and comfy.

2/10 Poor

Poorly maintained property

the others) Big mistake - Econo Inn with a lot of homeless around - Reserved a room with 2 double beds - she gave us one with 1 double bed - She gave us a room (115) with two double beds - She allowed only one room key - There was no A/C, the outside window had a bent wire holding it partially closed and the toilet was stopped up - She switched us to room 215 - everything worked. However, due to the one key rule, one of us had to stay in the old room while the other made multiple trips up stairs - there is no elevator. - When I went to inspect Room 215 before moving in a man, who was either high or drunk, was demanding loudly to get into the room next door. He had a square plastic “patch” below his right ear. - When I came back to the room with my first load of stuff he was gone. - However, when I came back up with my second he was opening the door with a key (so much for the one-key-per-room rule). Again, he was conversing loudly with the room’s occupant - When Ed and I came up with our remaining paraphernalia he was in the room taking with the inhabitants(s), loudly. Telling him/them “You don’t belong here. You’re just a guest!” - From our “new” room Ed could keep an eye on his truck down in the parking lot. There was a dumpster near it. A girl was dumpster diving - her legs sticking up out of the dumpster. After a bit she emerged with an ice cream tub and a spoon. There’s more but the word limit is reached.
Ground floor, exterior window won’t close.
Semi-closed with a wire.
