Lovely friendly hotel

Very welcoming friendly hotel. Great breakfast. If we stayed again I would upgrade to a sea view room as they were considerably bigger than the standard double we had.

A somewhat disappointing stay.

The room was large and the bed was comfortable . But on a cold night the room was cold and the bathroom was freezing as the window didn’t fit properly. The shower over the bathtub was pretty basic. While I had called ahead to make sure we could have dinner at 8 pm as we were coming off the ferry from the Scillys we found that the chef had left at 6 pm, we were not advised and no other arrangements had been made. As compensation I was offered free parking.

Good overnight stay. Check in was good and they let us check-in early. Room comfort also good. Good selection at breakfast. Hotel bar was closed at 9.30pm on a Saturday. We were too late to book for the hotel parking but parked in the car park opposite £3.70 for 24hrs

I was in the UK for about a month and this was the best hotel that I stayed at. The room had a queen-sized bed and even had a small sitting area to watch the promenade. Lovely clean stylish hotel. Nice and quiet rooms, really enjoyed our stay. Nice stylish bar on arrival which really sets the scene for entering the property, a few days after our arrival the bar was emptied from view and the space then looked very odd and empty.

We were given a room in a separate building next door, behind a Thai restaurant. Room was small, poorly decorated. Shelves made of cheap kitchen unit materials. Tiny windows, more like ventilators. No AC in room. There was no clear mention of staying in a different building when booking. Breakfast was good.

Breakfast and the staff serving it were excellent otherwise pretty mediocre. Room was tiny and looked like it had been furnished by charity shop items. Carpet hadn't been hoovered before we arrived and room wasn't serviced on 2nd day of a 2 night stay which seemed odd for a so-called 4 star hotel. Pillows weren't good and had odd pillowcases and cushions on bed were cheap and flat. Bathroom floor tiles were stained. Price must be based on having a sea view.
