Wonderful historic Inn with very comfortable room
Situated on the outskirts of the lovely village of Coggeshall next to the church this historic Inn was a wonderful, peaceful get away. The bedroom had been refurbished to a high standard whilst retaining it's historic charm. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

A home from home
It was a amazing place vibe was so friendly and hospitality was just so special, we was made to feel like there best friends and family. The haunted room was beautiful too nothing was too much trouble

Great value, gorgeous room.
Room absolutely stunning! Bed really comfortable, bathroom enormous and spotless. Loved the breakfast hamper really nice touch. Only downside was the noisy pub downstairs, would be really difficult to sleep. We made the decision to go down and have a drink, the locals and staff were very welcoming so we made the most of it 😊.

Great room
Room was excellent. En-suite was fantastic. Very clean and good stay. It is a public house and music finishing at midnight all good for us on first night but music being slightly turned down and finishing between 3 and 4am not so considerate for guests.

Very nice place to stay, great in room selection of snacks, breakfast items, teas and coffees. Shame the restaurant wasn’t open on my visit but there is options in the town within a few minutes walk. Overall very very good.

Unfortunately only stayed one night , it was a mile from Houchins where we attended a wedding. We stayed in Maldon room , so gorgeous and comfy , we had breakfast provided in our room , everything has been thought of and attention to detail was second to none !

Bed was very comfortable, and the staff was extremely helpful. Easy walk to the downtown area with some nice shops.

8/10 Very good

Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and well presented room. Breakfast is just items supplied in the room, but they have made the very best of the situation. A full breakfast would have earned a top score.

We were only there for 2 nights but everywhere was really clean and fresh. We were made very welcome and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The garden/outside seating area was also well kept. It is obviously a locals pub and everyone we spoke to was very friendly.
Madeline, 2-night trip

A lot of noise from the bar late at night.

Beautiful hotel.
We stayed in the Dedham room which was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The room was spotless and the breakfast basket ideal. Thank you to Mel for a warm welcome and completely relaxed stay.
Nicola, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

It was listed as having a restaurant, but hasn’t. It said breakfast included, but it was a yogurt and fruit in a fridge. When a British pub says breakfast you expect a full English not a continental.

Nice room and bathroom. Also very happy for us to check out later than the required time.

Terrific stay, lovely room with a fantastic view from patio. Great breakfast baskets which included all sort of quality goodies. Only negative was no food available in the evening midweek. Overall fantastic place to stay.
