For the price, I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the lodge. We stayed in one of the suites, which still had carpet that looked dirty and dated — that part really turned me off. The inside overall felt a bit aged. The highlight was definitely the hot spring tubs, which made for a great first experience in Ouray. The evening staff member was wonderful — friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations. The day staff, however, weren’t as welcoming.
It was also a bit difficult taking the dogs out since there weren’t many areas nearby to walk them, but we did find the Hot Springs Park, which had a big grassy area where the dogs could have fun. The continental breakfast was okay, but the location was great — we were able to walk to most places in town. Overall, not a terrible stay, but I wish they kept up better with maintenance, especially the flooring.
