I got exactly what I wanted out of an old Swiss property. The staff was very nice. The broom was comfortable with the private bathroom and shower. The bed was nice with the TV in the room and everything went very well. The restaurant was excellent and for 300-year-old hotel they've done a great job at at keeping up with the times inside.

It was a good location for visiting the Lauterbrunnen area. While it is 300 years old and does not claim to be modern there are certainly areas that could do with some maintenance. We had one meal in the restaurant, was okay but overpriced, although Switzerland does seem to be more expensive than surrounding countries. Bed was a bit uncomfortable, pillows quite uncomfortable. Sorry I’m not usually picky but this was not a cheap stay. At least breakfast was included, although 1 morning out of 3 it was out of some food by 8.30am after a big group went through. Shower was hot.

Parking is available for off-season, however I can only assume parking is a nightmare during high season. Beds are European twins, so small, don't expect larger. The room are heated, almost too well but you can really enjoy the fresh air by opening windows and balcony. The view is worth every cent.

There are many stairs to climb as the description notes. Maybe a few more stairs than you might think. This was an older property with charming appeal. Though was fairly quiet even with older floors and a group of teens. The staff were friendly and helpful. Water pressure in the shower was perfect. Breakfast offered a variety of choices.
