The entry door had a lip that the scooter couldn't clear. The bathroom floor not well cleaned. The room was very old, in bad shape. Old bed. Noisy air conditioner. Not an accessible toilet. Very small bathroom sink. Very small bathroom shelf. Grab bars behind the toilet seat was useless. One positive note: plenty of space to move around with the scooter

The staff at thebfront desk were very friendly and helpful. The gardens and landscaping were beautiful. The room had laminate flooring, which is much cleaner than carpet. The rest of the roomwas very shabby. The bathroom floors had a slippery film on them. Shower did not drain properly. The curtains did not close properly and there was an outside light sinning directly on the bed. The rooms need a serious upgrade.

It really is difficult to rate a hotel room such as this. On the one hand, the room was clean. On the other hand, the room is definitely 1-star sleazy. Old, uncomfortable mattress. Bare walls. No amenities to speak of. No elevator. Worn carpeting. No bedspread. Threadbare towels. Nominal toiletries. No facial tissue. In short, this is a $25 hotel room for which $125 is charged. They know that they’re among the only game in the City of Torrington (the other choice is a Days Inn that, believe it or not, may be even worse!) so they can get away with dramatically overcharging for this sad, sad room.

Overall good accommodations, clean, friendly staff, good price for what you get, in no way fancy, but comfortable. Breakfast left something to be desired. Really, only down side was the shower, water pressure was horrible, seroiusly, it was bad. Wi-Fi lagged as well.

We pretty much just got the room for the hot tub which was satisfactory and pleasant (except for a loose jet), however the room had a smoky smell and there were a lot of weird sounds. I’m not sure if there was breakfast available because we woke up late.

The room was freezing cold when we arrived, there were not enough towels for two people and they were smaller than what we had expected. It was fine otherwise, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

It seemed a little desolate. The women on the upstairs balcony were saying ‘Don’t stay here, which got me a little alarmed. But all worked out ok. It’s under construction so maybe so upgrades will be made. Housekeeping didn’t remake the bed. I guess I expected a little more cause it’s not wicked cheap. The staff and workers there all seemed nice.

Amenities listed were a pool and fitness equipment but both were not available. Breakfast had cereal but no milk, and the juice machine was not working our first morning. I was able to get orange juice our second morning but not apple juice. Our room needed some upkeep…some outlets were loose, microwave didn’t work, some tv channels didn’t have sound or was staticky, the room & ceiling could have used a paint job….Our room rate was too high for what was offered/not available. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very nice, hospitable, helpful, easy to talk with…I give them the top score!!

Wonderful Staff forgettable accommodation

Wonderful check in staff who were both personable while maintaining their professionalism. The evening staff member went out of his way to accommodate and resolve room issue. He went as far as to proactively heat two additional rooms when my check in room heat source showed limited capability to perform it’s function! The hotel itself is very run down. Cleanliness was spotty with certain area meticulously cleaned and other areas, lipstick on the inside of the folded shower towel. Non renovated rooms look like they haven’t been updated since hotel was built. Renovated rooms lack the completeness of a full renovation. The staff and their personality make the hotel tolerable. They work with what has been given to them and compensate with their excellence customer service.

the rooms had an odor, the carpet was soiled, visible maintenance was poor workmanship and slapped together. The room had 3 socks underneath the bed and a container of fruit filled with fruit. An empty chip bag was also under the bed. The chain lock had no fastener to lock. The outdoor hallway was filthy and carpeted. Torrington Area Health Board should visit. Or the appropriate Health Department. The bathroom ceiling was patched and crumbing into the tub. There was a large rubber mat glued to the bottom of the tub with black mold on the mats edges. The curtains were not latched to the rod so if not positioned just right someone could look in. The front check in manager was extremely accommodating.
