Budget friendly option in South Beach
First and foremost, it was incredibly clean. Zero complaints there. It’s a very old building. But in a cool, eclectic way. With that being said, everything is very dated. Again, it’s very clean, but also dated. None of the amenities/“extras“ you come to expect from even the lowest priced modern day hotels. No temperature control for your individual room. We had to get extra blankets to stay warm. Also, I’m sure this is the case with any place on Ocean Drive, but if you’re a light sleeper, you do not want to stay at a hotel in this location. The atmosphere is alive and happening very late into the night and you are right on top of it. But overall, we felt like the cons were pretty much acceptable based on the fact that we were only there for one night and for the price.

Somewhat Uncomfortable
The hotel AC is central and they keep it rather warm, I couldn’t sleep well. The windows don’t open so not an alternative. The noise on the hallways is pretty bad, you can feel it as if it was inside your room. Location is great and staff are friendly.

Love the location and close proximity to the beach. There are also many restaurants and shops nearby. Unfortunately we missed part of our stay due to flight delays. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. The elevator is a bit sketchy

Bad stay away
This hotel is not as pictured at all and when we arrived we really thought we were in the wrong hotel. The whole place seemed very dirty and like it was a front for bad things. We went to look at the room and the elevator and hallways and room just was not anything close to clean or acceptable. They didn’t even have a luggage cart and ocean drive was closed so we were supposed to walk 3 blocks with our luggage. We ended up not staying because it was nothing like we booked. The only thing good was the front desk gal was very nice , not her fault it was misrepresented and it just didn’t feel safe there

Oldie but goodie
Hotel is really old. There’s no thermostat in the room to control the temperature. The floors were uneven and cracked a lot. The room was clean and the front desk staff was nice. $100 deposit, $28 resort fee and $40 for parking. The staff allowed us to check in early. Hotel is in the heart of South Beach on Ocean drive

Really nice and perfect location
Love the location, and the people were really nice and went out of their way to accommodate any of our needs. Absolutely our new favorite at South Beach. Keep in mind this is a historic hotel nearly 100 years old, so don't expect "modern". But it is very well kept, attractive, and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And yes, the elevator works.

Paid for room on expedia and then got charged more by the dest staff upon arrival and the staff was rude about it telling me " of i had a problem with it, i can feel free to cancel" my reply was "why would i want to cancel, i booked the room and paid for it months ago" the bed sheets had knots all over them, it was sleeping on sand paper and it hurt, the had no covers but a sheet. The tv is very small. The rooms are very plane. It was not cozy nor comphy at all. I will not go back there.
