We had a pretty poor experience at La Maison Hotel. I’d honestly give it one star. We ended up booking it on our way back from Italy to the Netherlands because our original hotel was fully booked, and unfortunately, this one was not only much more expensive but also much worse.
Our room was on the fourth floor, right under a slanted roof, and it was boiling hot. The air conditioning was broken, and their “compensation” was a busted fan that didn’t work either. We couldn’t leave the window fully open because it had no safety latch, which meant it was actually dangerous—if the kids leaned out too far, they could fall right from the fourth floor. So we had to keep it shut. The shower was dirty, the room was dusty, and the tap water was either scorching hot or freezing cold—no normal temperature for a comfortable shower.
Breakfast was hit or miss: the French bread was nice, but the rest of the fresh items were covered in flies and fruit flies, which was really gross. The only positive thing I can say is that the hotel is nicely located in the center, so you can walk straight out into town. Other than that, it was an experience we’d rather forget.
