Was booked to stay for a week. I passed the building twice because it looked nothing like the photos provided when booking. First red flag after walking into the lobby, there was a crackhead asking reception if they offered hourly rates and I couldn’t blame her after looking at the condition of the place. But rate was cheap and I didn’t expect to hang out in the lobby so not too bothered, yet. Asked to be put in a room that overlooked the parking so I can keep an eye on the car. They replied that they were fully booked like I’m an idiot and didn’t see a total of 4 cars in the parking lot. Reception was magically able to find the right room available after doing the math. Thought the worst was behind me until I opened the door to the room. It was filthy, stains on the wall which were accentuated with crumbling furniture and the smell of regret. I spent a total of 15 minutes in there booking another hotel before I went back to reception requesting a refund and checkout. Microtel hid behind hotels.com, hotels.com hid behind getting “approval” from Wyndam to refund me. I spent 15 minutes in the room out of a week long stay and they have the audacity to put it through a “review process”. The low price doesn’t justify the issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and the overall unacceptable condition of the property.
