Very historic property! Excellent location great breakfast! Great staff!

8/10 Very good

The room was nice and very clean, only downside is the poor wi-fi signal stregth so much so that my mobil network was faster and the remote for the cable hooked up to tv wasn't connected to work the volume or power on/off the tv so I had to get up each time to do so.
Brandon, 2-night trip

Nice overall, close to the beach/boardwalk
Jeremy, 6-night trip

8/10 Very good

There is a small kitchen area with a fridge, coffee pot, and tea pot, no other amenities available. The room was warm which was nice with the cold winds outside. We did not interact with any staff members except via phone call and they were extremely friendly, we did visit during the off season which is why we didnt see any staff members, but the room was very clean and cozy. One thing to note is that this hotel and many others in this area are historic, so no elevators and many steps, very charming but if you are older or have balance or mobility issues just be cautious of where you book and ask for a first floor room when and if possible! Just a heads up.

We had a very nice day at the shelf on hotel. The staff are lovely. The rooms were clean, and that charm of the Victorian style building and history were great.
Jenna, 2-night trip

Beautiful historical hotel with excellent accommodations and staff. Unfortunately area parking is limited, no TVs and shared bathrooms for some units. Additionally no elevator. Breakfast is served for a fee and live music on most days. Beautiful lounges, dining room and porches. Excellent place.

There was no TV or hair dryer, which was probably stated in the description so it’s my fault for not realizing. Otherwise it was a very great stay! Super clean rooms and close to the beach and Washington Street Mall!

Shops and restaurants were in walking distance! Also the beach! There wasn't a kitchen in our room or my friends room. It was a nice historic hotel and a fair price. Our only complaint was not knowing there was two booked weddings during our stay. Which limited our access to the restaurant and bar in the hotel. So we learned a lesson about CapeMay, September is wedding season there. Not the hotels fault, but we will ask next time if they are having big events.

very charming and centrally located down town. will stay here again as well as family have been staying here for many years.
Peter, 1-night trip

8/10 Very good

air conditioning as basic amenity. no TV/mini fridge/microwave in rooms. convenient to the mall and the beach but no direct view. while we enjoyed the historic hotel overall, was not quite a fan of all the stairs to the rooms and lack of dependable nearby (free) parking, especially with all the scheduled events/weddings at the hotel. On a positive note, dinner at the magnolia room restaurant was amazing. fried chicken was most definitely worth the hype.

This is a beautiful Victorian property full of classic charm. Its location is convenient to multiple options such as dining, shopping and beach time. The staff was wonderful.
LISA, 2-night trip

8/10 Very good

I enjoyed our stay at the Chalfonte Hotel. It felt like a step back in time in some ways, which was a nice change of pace. I loved that our family was provided an umbrella and chairs at the beach, which was included in the price of our stay. It was within an easy walk to the beach and the local Cape May establishments. The staff was lovely and very helpful. I would definitely look into staying here again.
Emily, 3-night trip

Beautiful happening hotel very close to the beach. Staff was very kind. They give you beach chairs with umbrellas, and fresh coffee in the morning. The only negative was the bed size. It was a bit difficult to sleep on a full size, so if thats an issue make sure you book a room with a queen.
Adam, 4-night trip

8/10 Very good

We enjoyed the Victorian-era design and charm of the Chalfonte, especially the wrap-around balcony with rocking chairs and tables. It was an easy walk from the hotel to the Convention Center and the beach.

Lovely, welcoming stay

The owners are lovely; the historic hotel is charming, welcoming and super clean. The screened in porch off Room 1 was beautiful and much appreciated!

Vintage property with cool public spaces. Live music featuring very talented rhythm and blues. Restaurant is convenient. I was lucky with street parking and the beach umbrella and lounge chairs are a plus. The front desk was super helpful. They brought my bags up to my 3rd floor room. If you like the vintage feel this place a good choice. I will book here again.

My daughter and granddaughter live in Cape May. Definitely my go to place. I’ve stayed twice now and it’s perfect for me considering price and location.
