Upon arrival, I was informed by your staff that my booking was on a bed and breakfast basis only, despite my Hotels.com confirmation clearly stating that half board was included. I was asked to provide proof, which I did by forwarding my booking confirmation email showing that half board was paid for in advance.
Notwithstanding this, the dining experience fell significantly short of what was contractually agreed:
1. Dinner Restrictions: On the first evening, I was told there was no menu or choice and that only breaded pork with chips was available. Due to religious dietary restrictions, I could not consume pork. No alternative was offered except on the following night, when I was served a small portion of chicken and jacket potatoes. This is wholly inadequate for a hotel offering half board service. both nights, we were charged separately for all drinks, including water and soft drinks, without prior notice. In total, we incurred additional charges of CHF 60 for soft drinks alone. This was unexpected and contrary to our reasonable expectation of a standard half board package. Distress: On more than one occasion, I was told in front of other guests that my meals had not been paid for, which caused significant embarrassment. I felt humiliated and, frankly, treated as though I was asking for something to which I was not entitled, despite having paid in full prior to arrival.
