This is a lovely hotel. I was travelling solo and booked a room with a queen size bed rather than a single. It was spacious amd comfortable with windows that opened as well as air con. Excellent location both for arrival at the train station as well as exploring Freiburg. And do pop up to the solar roof garden to see how the hotel really is Green.

Nice vintage hotel in great location. Room floorplan was perfect for us with 3 adults; a door between the bedroom and sofa bed with two full bathrooms. There was a smell in the room my husband attributed to the water but I’m not sure. The smell was there the whole stay and no we didn’t mention it to the staff - windows open helped and us not there much and we didn’t want to deal with it.

Overall the hotel was nice, was clean, nice breakfast, parking all fine. The only issue was the space and design, the room and WC were too small, everything in the hotel was very small, park place, lift… and design was not helping either. For example big chair in the room made even less space to move.

Best Hotel in Freiburg

The best hotel we stayed at this time around. Centrally located, friendly staff, 24/7 coffee and tea in the lounge opposite the reception desk. Room darkening shade and A/C made for a great sleep with no hint of noise from the street. Will definitely stay here again if my travels bring me back to Freiburg.

Bums and homeless people outside this hotel, especially in the evening. Very off putting and I never did see anyone from the hotel go out and get them moving, nor the police. However, the location to the train station and to the Old Town was great.

The property was very nice, everything was updated and clean! The staff was very attentive to any questions or concerns. The only negatives were the 25 euro price for breakfast and the size of the rooms. The first night we were there we had a comfort plus room which was fine, we traveled a few days then came back and got a regular room. We barely had room to walk past the luggage and only one person at a time in the bathroom. Definately ask for comfort plus!

A good choice in Freidburg

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was comfortable with excellent storage - wardrobe/drawers. Dressing gowns and slippers were a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, but unfortunately the pillows were very lumpy. Most members of staff were very helpful and friendly, although a small number seemed quite grumpy and preoccupied. Breakfast was excellent, a very choice of good quality products. A superb selection of teas and coffee were available free of charge throughout the day. We parked our hire care at the Rotteckgarage which was a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel has an agreement that allows guests to use the car park at a subsidised rate. The maximum payable is reduced to €18 per day instead of the standard €30. The hotel was in an excellent location, only a few minutes walk to the railway station. The town centre and network of trams was also close by.
