We had an 8-hour layover in Toronto from midnight to 8 a.m. We decided to book a room at the Hilton Hotel because of its proximity to the airport and its free 24-hour shuttle service, hoping to get a good rest before our next international flight. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a mistake and cost us a lot for nothing. We checked in at 1 a.m. and were scheduled to check out before 6 a.m. Around 2:40 a.m., the fire alarm went off loudly and continued for more than an hour, waking us up. In short, we never got the sleep we paid for. I emailed the manager to ask if they could compensate us in any way, but she said it didn’t fall under any category that requires compensation. I was hoping that somehow we will be given any discount for a future check in , but no, it's so frustrating.
