6/10 Good

It’s a studio apartment, has a microwave & a kettle. Yet they only provide 2 mugs! Had to ask for bowls & cutlery, the poor receptionist could only offer 1 bowl a spoon, a teaspoon & a fork! Shambolic to say the least. The room did its job, shower was good & toilet was functional. Room was clean. Only thing to be aware of was the bed end, it has parts that protrude at the foot end, they hurt when your toes hit them!

Very good location. No staff after 10pm, no emergency office phone number if something unexpected happens after 10pm.

You’ll get what you paid for. It’s one of the cheapest accommodations in Toronto, but even compared to the cheapest hostels I’ve stayed at in other cities like LA Vancovuer, this was something else. The staff was really kind, though.
HOJUNG, 3-night trip

8/10 Very good

Close enough to parking options with parking garage about half a block a way. Decent area. Had minor hiccup with dying battery on door lock but other than that good stay. Staff were real friendly and excellent to me the whole time.

Will stay here again! Worth it for the price. We had a mix up with my date booked, and last minute the hotel and Expedia came through and changed our reservation without any issues! Thankful for that! A tad bit noisy because of its location and people in the hallway. But that’s to be expected honestly. Self check in was very easy, and it smelled very nice when you walk in. Booked this place on a whim and I’m glad we did :)

Sebastian, 1-night trip

6/10 Good

To be fair, I am not in the practice of staying in hostels, but the price was so good that I found my finger selecting the option to book it. I stayed for two nights which I regretted. The first night was rough. I shared the room with 3 other females and was assigned a bunk bed which was also a new experience for me. The positive aspect of this place is that it is right in the downtown centre….the negative, it is right in the downtown centre! The music of the night included several sirens, honking and the odd motorcycle trying to show off how big his engine can sound. These are the sounds of the night that were shockingly not overpowered by the extremely loud fan/air conditioner? Not sure which one it was because it appeared to be an air conditioner, but the room was unbearably hot- this is coming from someone who is always cold! Bottom line, you get what you pay for, location is great, would not stay here again because I value my sleep.

A cozy room

I've stayed at the Palmerston in the dormatories several times for work and wanted to check of one of their suites. I was pleased to get a cozy room with a kitchenette, hot shower and a soft cozy bed for the weekend ! A concert within fifteen minute walk Saturday and I finished a novel on a peaceful Sunday. A great cafe across the corner ( and an A&W downstairs as well) and parking close for an early getaway. The Palmerston is a good deal.
