We loved our stay! We wanted an authentic Italian experience, not just a hotel room, and this delivered. There were just a couple of things that needed improvement, or we experienced during our stay that could be tweaked for future guests.
Firstly, the 'free parking' shouldn't even be listed. It gave us the illusion that although there wasn't parking on site, there was available free parking nearby. This wasn't the case, as we had to park 10 minutes away on the street, as the car park recommended was full. Not a big thing, just something to be aware of. The breakfast food was lovely; it was a great opportunity to try local delicacies. But we would have preferred an option after a couple of days of tasting the food, to have a tick list of we'd like going forward. As half the items served to us barely got touched, and the tomato dishes were beautiful, but only came out half the time.
When we did see the hosts, they were nice enough. No one really introduced themselves the day after we arrived, and in the end, I had to message Francesca regarding the air conditioning dripping in my room (which happened twice on our 5-day stay), and that was the only time I had any contact. Slightly bemused by the previous reviews about the hosts, as I felt the interaction (especially when we checked out) was quite awkward.
But all in all, it's the perfect location within the historic centre of Lecce for dining, drinks, and shopping. A couple of tweaks would make this a 10/10 place to stay.
