Not the room we booked
We had booked a ‘high floor’ room, but were put on the 2nd floor. When I enquired about this, I was told it was overbooked and no high floor rooms were available. They did offer a discount for the lower room, but then we discovered it was right above the HVAC or dryer vents and the windows were COVERED in lint. The staff were apologetic, but it was very disappointing.

Great location! Great service! Great meals! Great facility! Very good meals for the money at onsite restaurant. Good pool/spa/fitness facilities. We were in town for an overnight getaway from the Seattle area…visited one of the Dembo trolls, had an excellent meal at the Original Spaghetti Factory/Bancroft location and enjoyed a Trailblazers game! We did the others during the day, but the game was at night and a very easy walk from the hotel. Next morning before leaving had breakfast at the hotel and the food was fantastic. I typically don’t frequent the hotel restaurants, but this one was nice (from an ambiance perspective), has excellent service and very reasonable meals (both flavor and the amount of food) for the money…although of the three (3) meals, my wife noted that her biscuits & gravy could have been better.

Overall a good stay
Very nice, clean facility with friendly and helpful staff. Love the room set up, noise is kept to a minimum. A good selection in the convenience store. The coffee bar in the morning offered good coffee and the foods at the restaurant were also tasty. Areas of potential improvement: the thermostat is centrally controlled and turned off over night the first night dropping my room down to 62. The staff did adjust the temperature after this. There is a "night light" plug that is constantly on right next to the bed and is very bright (this would be good in the bathroom, not next to the bed). The mattress was a bit old and saggy in the middle.

Clean, good beds, a few fix-its
Our stay was pleasant. We could walk to the MODA center which was great. The room was clean and comfortable. There were some maintenance issues though. The security lock on the door was broken, there was a little peeling wallpaper, and our window was stuck open by about and inch. We did not discover this until the following morning. That explained why we heard a lot of hvac noise and it was chilly. Fortunately the heavy curtains kept it from being too cold. If the hotel’s maintenance kept up on small repairs, the room would have been 5-stars. Comfy beds and lots of nice pillows. Would stay again for a concert.

Shock and appalling
My daughter (11 yrs old) and myself stayed at the Crowne Plaza and to my surprise found a rather large adult toy along with an accessory that the previous occupant left behind in the night stand drawer. Thank god my daughter didn’t see it. I’m shocked and appalled that guest services didn’t find this while cleaning the room. I brought up the situation to the manager who seemed slightly concerned and offered a free breakfast and parking for the inconvenience. Do better Crowne Plaza, I might expect that sort of room condition from a lower tier establishment.

NEVER STAY HERE
We were extremely disappointed in the unprofessionalism of Crowne Plaza. The event that would bring us to PDX was canceled so we contacted Hotels.com to request a date change and was advised to contact Crown Plaza directly. We called 2 weeks before the event and was sent to VM to request a change in dates. We left our request and contact information. NO RESPONSE. We called back 7 days later and was told to send an email (was given the email address) to request a date change. We did. NO RESONSE. We resent the email, again making a date change request. NO RESPONSE. Crowne Plaza has been our go to when we travel to PDX. NEVER AGAIN. We have so many options with better service.
