We stayed one night for a girl's trip. The room was nice and mostly clean. One of the mattress protectors had a blood stain on it. We found it odd that the beds didn't have a top sheet, just a duvet and fitted sheet. The staff was friendly but not attentive to the front door. We appreciated the safety feature of the locked front door but not the wait to get in if the front desk wasn't staffed. They do offer nice personal touches: emailed me ahead of time asking if we needed special accomodations, holding our luggage before and after check in and out, and calling me when our room was ready. The hotel was in a great location to catch dinner and a show l. I would stay again.

Quiet and close to theaters
My 11 year old and I took the train from DC for a Broadway matinee on a Sunday. Dropped our bags which the staff moved to our room when it became available. We booked a room w 2 queens and got upgraded to a 2BR 2BA w a patio. Cute little kitchenette w coffee and bottled water. Very clean and quiet. I recommend to others coming to midtown!

Great spot!
Great little boutique hotel in Hell’s Kitchen! Very close to the theaters and lots of great food. The staff was excellent and the hotel was very clean. Continental breakfast was good. One thing to know is that they have two different buildings and if you end up in the second building, there are three floors and no elevator but otherwise this day was great.

Paris Charm in NYC
Great hotel on Restaurant Row. Great location!! Easy walk to theatres, Times Square, and all restaurants. This hotel has an old World, Paris charm. Real nice character. The breakfast was excellent!! Real nice healthy choices. The staff was excellent!! So nice & helpful. Will definitely return!!

The location is the best; it is a 5-minute walk to Times Square and there are a lot of restaurants on the street. The breakfast is very good with a good choise (the croissants come from a close-by bakery). The receptionist is very friendly. I recommend this hotel.

Mindblowing customer service
I was blown away by the kindness and helpfulness of the hotel staff. We got a message right after booking asking if we were ok with stairs, and we were. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we appreciated having this expectation ahead of time. We arrived early and they held the bags for us. When we checked in, bags were in our room! When we checked out, we just left the bags in the room and they held them for the rest of the day. The room was very clean and cozy. Decent amount of room for NY. Beds were a bit hard and shower was somewhat of a challenge trying to get temperature right. No hot breakfast, but what they did have (free) was of great quality. They helped us get our bags to the car as its challenging to park on the street. I would absolutely stay again any time I am in NY, best service I have seen even considering I travelled a lot in midwest. Also just an 8 min walk to Times Square and lots of restaurants around.

Convenient stay.
We had a nice stay at Hotel Scherman. Employees were nice and helpful. Hotel is located very close to Times Square but nice that it’s a few blocks over that we weren’t in the center of it all the whole time. Added bonus from the hotel was that they held our luggage the day we got in until our room was ready and they held our luggage at checkout until we were ready to go. We stayed on the side that didn’t have an elevator so we had to truck it up and down the steps to our room. Beds could have been a little more comfy but overall was a great experience and we would stay there again.

Hotel Scherman, newly renovated.
Hotel Scherman is an amazing, small hotel near Times Square. From the moment you walk in until checkout, the staff is courteous, friendly, and helpful. Erik went above and beyond to assure our stay was the best. Whether it was offering us hotel umbrellas to use or answering questions the service from all staff exceeded expectations. The room was spacious and spotless with all amenities. My inly personal issue was the mattress was too firm. I recommend Hotel Scherman to anyone wanting a personal touch. I'll be back.
