What a wonderful little town! There is so much history that happened here; lots of old pioneer homes! The tree-lined main street is clean and it would have been great to have had time to do a bit of shopping around.

Local restaurants are excellent and cater very well to the tourists. I believe most are in town to visit Capitol Reef Nat'l Park. Very friendly vibe from all of the merchants. We ate at Chak Balam, Capitol Burger Food Truck and the Wild Rabbit.

Chuckwagon Bakery was really good in downtown Torrey. They have a variety of homemade baked goods, breakfast options, and deli. The Rock Reef Cafe had amazing pizza.

Be warned. If you stay in Torrey in the winter, not much is open. It is close to Capitol Reef NP, which is why I was there.
"Our stay was just short of magical. We ate at Hell’s Backbone Grill and Thomas was delightful. Everyone we interacted with was warm and pleasant. A shout out to Nina and Elizabeth. Great getaway. Excellent food (try the goat cheese fondue) and we were very pleased with everything at the property. "

"We stayed at Wispering Sands during our motorcycle tour from Las Vegas through Utah and Colorado to Denver. The hotel is orqctically the only hotel option in Hanksville. It is clean, well located next to a full service gas station with a store and a burger restaurant, has amole parking and beautiful views. The rooms are recently renovated, very clean with comfy beds. Highly recommended."
