The area boasts student-friendly dining with everything from famous Zingerman's sandwiches to ethnic eateries reflecting the university's diverse population. Most attractions sit within easy walking distance, while TheRide bus system connects you to anywhere you can't reach on foot. We met and fell in love in Ann Arbor 45 yrs ago (my husband was a grad student and I worked at UofM). So it has a very special place in our hearts. It is vibrant and has many outstanding (& reasonable) cultural opportunities. We love Ann Arbor!!

Ann Arbor is a great college town with a lot to do and even more dining options. Very walkable. It's very midwest and not terribly overpriced compared to surrounding areas.

Good
Big House games are great, cab transportation is predatory, other hotels are clean, welcoming and friendly. Red Roof in is none of these.
"This was the best home2suites I’ve ever stayed in. It was super clean, had a great workout room and pool, and the breakfast was terrific. Even the coffee was nice and strong. Highly recommend. Great value and close to everything."

"It was very nice place and located close to everything and the staff was excellent and prices were decent . The breakfast was hot and fresh every morning. Coffee was good as well. I would definitely recommend this facility to everyone. "
"We had great service the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to say one the that would be help is a handicap ramp into the pool area. it was a little hard getting into with a wheelchair and walker
"
"The free breakfast was terrible. The dried up egg patty and sausage weren't edible. I dumped it and had yogurt.
The room was amazing and had every amenity. The decor was beautiful and space was huge. Loved having the kitchen and a huge sofa. Bathroom was pretty and clean.
The front desk staff were very friendly. "
"Very unique interesting hotel within walking distance of the University of Michigan. Beds are comfortable and room was clean. Great fit for our college visit."
"Overall, one thing about Bell Tower Hotel is that its breakfast is quite mediocre. It would be fine in a more budget establishment, but this hotel aspires to be more a boutique hotel. It needs to hire a better chef."
"I spent 5 nights at Sonesta. The accommodations were exactly as described. The room and facility was clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and available as needed but mostly kept to their duties. I had a handicap accessible room bcz I was having surgery while in Ann Arbor. The dog theme decor, pet treats, and color scheme added to the appeal.
Pros
1. Quiet convenient location near I-94 and 7 mins from U of M.
2. The kitchen had a fridge (with ice maker), dishwasher, 2 burner induction top, microwave, coffee maker, and kitchen utensils, plates, cups, cookware for 2.
3. There was a station to borrow items and a mini store with stocked food to purxhase and cook. I will definately stay again
Cons
1. The shower pressure was very low and the water bled onto the bathroom floor so I used several towels each time (staff replaces them as you need.)
2. Also the air conditioning unit takes a little getting used to in order to actually maintain a cool room.
3. Finally the microwave in my room was on the counter and it took up most of the countertop space so I used the desk for alot of kitchen prep. Most likely that's only in the accessibility rooms."
"Great place to stay with a super nice staff. The room was well appointed and housekeeping left the paper towels with a paper towel bow and the Kleenex as a flower. Really sweet and welcoming and unexpected. The front desk was super friendly and helpful. Nice to have breakfast as an option. Great Job! Would definitely stay again. "
"Kensington Hotel on State Street at Ann Arbor is a very pleasant place to stay. The facility is clean, quiet, and convenient. It is relatively small, but offers all the upscale amenities you would like to enjoy. I wish we had time to stay longer so that we could use the indoor swimming pool, the lively backyard, the sauna, and the gym, etc. Their workers were all friendly. William at the front desk was particularly awesome. We arrived quite late that evening. He did not only offered the three adults of us a glass of champagne, but also offered to prolong the open time of the pool if our children would like to swim before going to bed. We have a saying in Chinese, 賓至如歸,meaning “the guests arrive as if they are at home.” William made us feel at home indeed."
