The Marina District pairs stunning Mediterranean views with layers of history right along Cagliari's sparkling waterfront. Ancient Pisan towers and medieval walls rise above yacht-filled marinas, creating perfect backdrops for sunset strolls. Spend your days exploring hidden gems like the Sant'Eulalia Archaeological Site or sipping espresso at waterfront cafés while boats bob gently in the harbor.
When hunger strikes, seafood restaurants and traditional trattorias serve up Sardinian specialties with ocean views. Traditional trattorias serve authentic culurgiones pasta and roasted suckling pig between the district's artisan shops selling handwoven textiles and coral jewelry. Boutique hotels and B&Bs occupy converted medieval buildings with original stone walls and panoramic terraces. Walking is your best bet here, as the steep, narrow streets limit vehicle access.

"My friend and I loved staying at DH Lawrence! The staff was lovely, our room was HUGE and we had a delicious breakfast every morning. The location is awesome and a short walk to tons of restaurants and shop (despite being uphill, but that’s Cagliari for you). The bar on the roof is great for an apertivo and has a nice view, just make sure to have a rez."
"Fantastic location just a short walk from the station, buses on the doorstep and walkable into town.
Clean and stylish hotel, friendly staff, great breakfasts and...they rented us beach umbrellas for our day on the strand! 100% Recommend!"
"Excellent stay. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Hotel was beautiful and had a nice little plaza within to get dinner and drinks. You won’t be disappointed. "
"La villa del mare was perfect stay, right next to the beach lots of options for beach chairs …. Rooms were very clean, staff very friendly and helpful…. Breakfast was very good "
"The entrance and breakfast area was tight. I would not bring loud children here as it is more of an apartment converted into rooms. I liked the location; monuments within walking distance and pedestrian only street. "
"Rooms were perfect. The location was perfect. The only issue is that the lifts did not work for the duration of our stay and we were on the 4th floor."
"Check in was pleasant and easy- Paula was lovely to deal with.
We stayed in the superior apartment, it was very spacious, very clean and the beds were very comfy. It was well equipped with kitchen items, tea and coffee facilities, two tellies (the living room one is MASSIVE and had netflix, prime and youtube apps- very handy for watching if your Italian isn’t the best), plus plenty of towels. Wifi worked perfectly the whole time and was very fast.
We did have to buy toilet paper and bin bags as these didn’t seem to be included, but that wasn’t a big deal as there is a lovely little supermarket just down the road.
Any questions and queries we had were answered promptly and politely by whatsapp.
The location is brilliant- on a very busy, touristy street with loads of great restaurants and lively bars. The downside of this is that it was very loud almost all night and we had some trouble sleeping. Definitely a great spot if you are looking for fun nights out and not boring old fuddy duddies like us ;)
Very close walking distance to the train station, several bus stops and lots of gorgeous historical landmarks.
"
"Great location. Comfy beds. Hard to communicate with the owner at first (never showed up to welcome us, hard time Check in in). It’s not a hotel, but rooms without reception. Rooms need a refresh but very clean. Safes (2) didn’t work (no battery…). Friendly staff (maid comes every 2 days)."
"Excellent room that was cleaned daily by extremely friendly staff. Location perfect for many a night sampling the local cuisine, and transport to Poetto Beach made easy. Breakfast options beyond belief, everything you'd want and all presented and served with passion. Lovely times. Thank you Regina Margherita."
"Nice hotel, good location, beach right across and free access to chairs and umbrellas. Good breakfast and lots of free street parking! Staff was wonderful!"
"We booked from 17 th July to 27th .Many comments here did not do the hotel justice. They criticised the hotel for being outdated whilst this is the theme of the hotel(70’s), it reminds you of beautiful memories. The location is great, you have underground free parking, most hotels in Europe now charge you a daily rate of €14 euros per night. The staff are amazing, from the reception , great lady who did our room, the staff at breakfast, always have a smile, the breakfast is great especially the coffee. Always 2 cappuccinos first then 2 espresso’s.
The restaurant is also great. Great holiday, if I do come back to Sardinia, I will book at this hotel without hesitation.
Grazie mille. Tarik"
"I’m a solo traveler and my single room was very spacious, spotless & in a great location. Staff were great & very friendly. Would stay here again in a heart beat. "
"Very friendly, welcoming staff. Lobby was spacious with lots of seating for guests while waiting for cocktails from the bar or while waiting to be seated to eat a meal in the on-site restaurant. The amenities were ample and easily accessible to the guests. The property was close to the airport, but in a noisy, dirty, unsafe industrial area. It was not conducive for walking into town or anywhere else. Perhaps a free or very affordable hotel shuttle service for hotel guests to and from the airport would help? 😎"
"We stayed for 4 nights. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Lovely location with picturesque views over the ocean.
Suggestions: the rooms don’t have coffee facilities, so we bought a travel kettle and our own coffee etc. "
"We loved this property! Monica and her colleagues gave us an incredible stay in the beautiful heart of Cagliari. Perfect recommendations for local places to eat and visit. The rooms are big and well decorated. We had one challenge the first night but Monica quickly fixed it with care. Would happily return anytime. The breakfast is amazing! Make time for it! They have fresh eggs too. "
"Great property walking distance to the Navigli area in Milan. The check in staff was so helpful and friendly, and gave great recommendations for restaurants. The hotel is up to date, beautiful spacious room, and is on a quiet street, but walking distance to the canal in Navigli area where all the restaurants and terraces are. Highly recommend!"
"Most amazing stay in central Cagliari! Upgraded to a room with a terrace, tons of space including kitchen, lounge, 2 bathroom and bedroom. Rooftop is a beautiful space for all guests and wonderful easy breakfast. Hosts were also very kind and helpful (WhatsApp texts, restaurant recs). I wish I stayed longer than 1 night! The interior felt like a proper beach home "
